1. Teacher asks students to view the three pictures and answer the question：“What kind of problem do the people have in each picture?”to lead to the topic.

2. Teacher asks Ss to read the passage in Activity 1 and talk about MSF.

3. Teacher encourages Ss to predict the main idea of this passage based on the title and pictures.

While-reading

1. Teacher asks students to read the journal quickly and find

out what the author was tackling to check the prediction.

2. Teacher ask students to read carefully and find out the

topic sentences or main idea of each paragraph and the structure of the text.

3. Teacher asks students to read the passage again and finish

the first task in activity3.

4. Teacher asks students to work in groups and use five

adjectives to describe the spirit of MSF doctors and give reasons.

5. Teacher asks students to read the passage and complete

the table.

6. Teacher asks students to retell the passage based on the table.
7. Teacher asks students to read the information and answer

the questions with the class to share thoughts about “a community with a shared future for mankind”.
