T asks Ss to read the title and predict what the passage is mainly about and the authors attitude towards emojis. Then T asks Ss to read the text quickly and check the prediction.5Step 3Reading for main idea and the structureT asks Ss to read the text againand leads Ss to divide the passage into three parts and summarize what each part is mainly about.T asks Ss to find out the authors purpose in writing the passage.10Step 4Reading for specific information   T leads Students to learn about emojis by guiding them to grasp the key information.1)  T asks Ss to read Part I and explain what emojis are.2)  T asks Ss to read Part II to find out the development and influence of emojis and why emojis have become more and more popular.3)  T asks Students to read Part III to find out what people think about the influence of emojis.10’Step 6Application T encourages Ss to work in pairs and give a talk about the sentence from the passage.1)  Ss read the sentence and decide whether they agree or disagree with it.2)  Ss provide three reasons to support their ideasgive evidence for each reason and make notes.3)  Ss share them in class.6’Step 6Think and shareT motivates Ss to think over several questions and give some hints for these questions.
