    The Renaissance (15th t 16th century)During the Renaissance,new ideas and values gradually replaced thse held in the Middle Ages.Peple began t cncentrate less n religius themes and tried t paint peple and nature as they really were.One f the mst imprtant discveries during this perid was hw t draw things in perspective.Besides,il paints were als develped at this time,which made the clurs used in paintings lk richer and deeper. 
    Impressinism (late 19th t early 20th century)In the late 19th century,Eurpe changed a great deal.There were many new inventins and scial changes.Naturally,these changes als led t new painting styles.The Impressinists were the first painters t wrk utdrs.They were eager t shw hw light and shadw fell n bjects at different times f a day.Hwever,because natural light changes s quickly,the Impressinists had t paint quickly.Their paintings were nt as detailed as thse f earlier painters.At first,many peple disliked this style f painting because they think the paintings were ridiculus③. 
    Mdern Art (20th century t tday)At the time they were created,the Impressinist paintings were cntrversial④,but tday they are accepted as the beginning f what we call “mdern art”.There are scres f mdern art styles,but withut the Impressinists,many f these painting styles might nt exist.Sme mdern art is abstract while sme paintings f mdern art are s realistic that they lk like phtgraphs.These styles are s different.Wh can predict what painting styles there will be in the future?
