Ferdinand MagellanFerdinand Magellan (1480–1521) was a Prtuguese explrer. In 1519, he led the first vyage t sail arund the wrld. It was als the first vyage t sail frm the Atlantic Ocean t the Pacific Ocean. Magellan gave the Pacific Ocean its name, which means “peaceful sea”in Prtuguese.
