Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class. 2. Revise the knowledge they have learned before. 3. Sing the ABC song. Encourage the Ss to clap the hands. 4. Present the phonetic song on the screen and ask the whole class to repeat it together. 5. Encourage the Ss to perform the actions as they chant. 6. Ask pairs of Ss to the front of the class to offer performances of the chant and actions. Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Guide the Ss to look at the screen and present the letters on the screen. 2. Lead the Ss to repeat the letters one by one. 3. Ask the whole class to read the letters in order. 4. Present the picture on the screen of P6 to review the sound of Aa. Then T says some words, Ss listen and judge. If there is the sound /æ/, Ss clap their hands and say it out. 5. Review the sounds of Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu in the same way. 6. Learn the new words. Present the pictures of finger and toe and practice by playing the high low voice game. 6. Listen and write. Listen to the tape of the chant and fill in the missing letters according to the chant. Then check the answers. 7. Listen to the chant and repeat together. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension 1. Divide the class into four groups and represent different sounds of Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu. And T says the words with the sounds of Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu. Ss stand up and say out the sound when they hear the sound of their group. When the words has the sound of Uu , the whole class stand up and says Uu, Uu, /ʌ/, /ʌ/, /ʌ/. 2. Lead the Ss to read the letters and the sentences. 3. Do some exercises A. Read and judge. B. Choose the right answer. Step 4 Summary & Homework 1. Stress the key knowledge of this lesson. 2. Do homework Read the letters & sounds. |
