Step 1: Warm-up & Revisin & Lead-in
1. Greetings.
2. Sing a sng—When is yur birthday ? (出示课件)
3. Play a card game t review the wrds f twelve mnths.
4. Lead-in.
Create a situatin: Sarah is talking with Rbin. Shw the picture n the PPT. (课件出示: Sarah 和 Rbin 交谈的图片)
T: Sarah says t Rbin, “We have a few imprtant things in April.” Nw let’s g t see this calendar.
Lead in the tpic and write it dwn n the blackbard.
Step 2: Presentatin
1. Learn the phrase.
The teacher shws the activity card f April 1st.
T: Lk at the card. It’s the swimming cntest. When is the swimming cntest?
Ss: It’s n April 1st.
The teacher teaches the prnunciatin and the usage f the phrase “April 1st(1st—first)”, and lets students read it after the recrding. (课件出示:音频)
The teacher uses the same way t teach ther wrds: secnd(2nd),third(3rd),furth(4th),fifth(5th)and review the phrases: maths / Chinese / English test,sprts meet.
2. D yu knw?
(课件出示:1-5基数词与序数词及其缩略形式)
T: Nw lk at the picture,please! Which wrds are cardinal numbers? Which nes are rdinal numbers? Can yu find ut the differences?
Let students discuss the questins with their partners. Students answer the questins and then the teacher explains the differences between cardinal numbers and rdinal numbers.
3. Let’s play.
Shw these five rdinal numbers ne by ne n the PPT. Students say them ut quickly.
4. Read and act.
(1)The teacher plays the cartn f “Let’s learn”. Students read after it and pay attentin t the prnunciatin and the intnatin.
(2)Let students practise the dialgue in grups.
(3)Act ut.
Step 3: Practice
1. Flashing cards.
(1)Students read the phrases: Sept. 5th;May 1st;Jul. 4th;Jan. 2nd;Mar.3rd.
(2)The teacher shws the pictures f May Day,Children’s Day,New Year’s Day,China’s Natinal Day and s n. Let students say ut the dates quickly.
2. Ask and answer.
(1)Ask students t make dialgues. (课件出示: Ask and answer 图片)
T: There are many schl activities. Please make dialgues and practise with yur partner.
Example: A: When is the singing cntest?
B: It’s n Jul. 1st.
A: When is the schl trip?
B: It’s n Mar. 5th.
…
Students make dialgues and shw them.
(2)Shw five flrs f a shpping mall. (出示课件)
T: Lk at this shpping mall. It has five flrs. There are different stre in this mall. Where are / is the wmen’s clthing stres / men’s clthing stres children’s clthing stres / restaurants/ amusement park?
Ss: They are / It is n the first / secnd / third / furth / fifth flr.
Step 4: Cnslidatin & Extensin

1. Let students design their favurite teaching buildings.
T: Nw please design yur favurite teaching building and draw it.
