Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up & Revision 1. Greet the class. 2. Play the game to practice the comparative degree of the words younger, older, taller, shorter, longer. 3. Ask and guide the Ss to answer the questions correctly. Step 2 Presentation & Practice 1. Show them a balloon. Ask one of the Ss to make the balloon bigger. And then lead out the new words bigger. Board the word and lead Ss to read and spell. 2. Show another balloon and say to Ss. This balloon is small. It’s smaller than that one. So lead out the word smaller. Then practice it. 3. Present the PPT to teach the words heavier, stronger, bigger, thinner, smaller in the same way. 4. Present the white dog and the brown dog. 5. Lead the Ss to get to know the sentence patterns. How heavy are you? I am 52 kilograms. 6. Practice the sentence patterns with the pictures. 7. Play the Chain game to practice the sentence patterns. 8. Watch the video and repeat the words and sentences. 9. Try to say out the words of comparative degree quickly. 10. Try to find out the rules and sum up. Step 3 Consolidation & Extension 1. Match and say. Watch the video, connect the right pictures and practice Mike’s fish is smaller than Sarah’s (fish). 2. Emphasize the usage of Sarah’s (fish). 3. Talk about your own advantages. Step 4 Summary & Homework 1. Summarize the key words and sentences in this lesson. 2. Repeat and emphasize them again. 3. Translate the sentences. 4. Do homework. Draw some pictures and use the words and sentences to describe them. | ||
