Trees in our daily lives
1 (人、动物或植物)摄入,吸收 If people, animals, or plants take in air, drink, or food, they allow it to enter their body, usually by breathing or swallowing. They will certainly need to take in plenty of liquid. 它们当然需要吸收大量液体。 2 a lot of 后接不可数名词,furniture 为不可数名词。不能说 a furniture或 furnitures。将桌、椅、床等泛称为家具时,可以说 a piece of furniture或 an item of furniture。 be made of,由……制成,能看出原材料,而be made from,由……制造,看不出原材料。如桌子由木头制成,可以看出原材料,用be made of。而纸是由树木做成的,看不出来原材料,用be made from。 3 stop doing … “停下正在做的事”,动作结果是停止了。 stop to do … “停下正在做的去做另一件事”,开始了新的动作。 It's probably time to stop doing that. 也许是时候该停止这样做了。 Hearings the doorbells, she stopped to open the door. 听到门铃,她停下手中的活去开门。
