参考范文:
Dear Jack:
I’m glad to receive your e-mail asking my future major and career. Here’s what I
want to share with you.
Since middle school, I’ve been fond of Chinese literature, which I plan to choose as my major. Besides my passion, literature is meaningful. It opens before us the door to an entirely different territory and age, broadcasting our horizons. Accordingly, I hope to be a Chinese teacher, who can convey the beauty of Chinese literature to others.
So what do you think of my plan? Looking forward to hearing from you!
Yours,
Li hua

参考范文:
She was more focused than ever. Soon, Micah smiled broadly, “I’ve got it.” “What do we need?” I asked again. She said the baby bird needed some special bird food. Hearing this, I immediately phoned to place an order. While waiting for delivery, Micah added that we needed to name the bird to build a bond. “How about Chance? I think it has a good chance of making it with your help,” I proposed. She didn’t say a word but nodded with a bright smile.
Before long, the bird food was delivered and we fed the bird “Chance” at once. To our relief, the special food was to its taste. The following weeks, we went to feed and check on Chance every day. One day, Micah shared with me happily her finding that Chance became independent. Looking at her shining face, I was almost moved to tears. I never imagined that the bird Chance became the real chance to rebuild the emotion bridge between us. From then, I decided to accompany her more, just as what we had done to Chance. Company is the best love. (175 words)

W: How was your camping last week? Anything you found disappointing, Jason?
M: Yeah. I wish we’d stayed in a hotel. Camping’s all very well when it’s warm, but last week’s weather certainly wasn’t ideal. I was shaking even when I was in my sleeping bag.

M: You see, I like going off and doing my own thing. You know, history and museums — that’s what interests me.
W: Well, I love markets and looking for bargains. We all want a particular kind of holiday. The trouble was it wasn’t the same!

W: So, how was the first day working at the advertising agency?
M: Actually, it was really interesting. Our agency was just hired by a new customer. It’s a cell phone company and they want to change their whole image. It’s a huge project, so my boss is putting together a team of people to work on it.

M: Do you think the trip is worth going on?
W: I’d say so. It lasts all day and you get picked up from the hotel and they take you around the island to look at the sights. The price includes everything.

W: So, do you have any idea when you’ll have finished everything? For a project like this, those details should be finalized by now.
M: We had a meeting on making some changes to it. Perhaps we won’t need to replace all the artwork. In that case, it’ll definitely be finished by the end of next week.

M: Hi, Laura! What a surprise! Won’t you come in?
W: Hi, Eric! And hello to you too, Mittens! Oh! Mittens is getting thin, isn’t she?
M: Yes, I’m afraid so. She just isn’t eating like she used to.
W: What are you feeding her?
M: Oh, you know, whatever cat food is on sale.
W: You should try Meow Chow. It’s a little more expensive than the other brands, but cats love it because it tastes great!
M: OK, Laura. I’ll give it a try!

W: Why the long face, Tony?
M: Well, you know my job at the design studio? Today the boss called me into his office and told me they had to lay me off.
W: Oh, Tony, I’m so sorry. You said you really liked working there.
M: Yeah. You know, I’ve only been working there for ten months, so if they’re going to lay someone off, it’s always going to be the newer employees first.
W: What are you going to do?
M: Like I said, I’ve still got a job until the end of the month. Starting in May, I plan to apply for jobs online and go on some interviews.

M: I am going to Paris next weekend or the weekend after that. What’s the best way to do it?
W: Oh, don’t fly. There’s no point. Go by train; it’s much quicker than flying.
M: What about buses?
W: Oh no, the coach will take ages.
M: Yeah, I guess you’re right.
W: So, is Lily arriving soon then? You’re going to Paris with Lily and her family, aren’t you?
M: She’s travelling to Mexico with some other people.
W: You could go with Peter instead. I bet he’d like to go with you.
M: Actually, I’m going with some friends from college. Dieter, a German guy. And Alvaro. He’s got friends there, so we might visit them.
W: Cool.

W: James, have you ever been to school?
M: Oh, yes. I started at nursery school when I was four, and when I turned seven, I went on to junior school. I left when I was eight, and my mother’s been teaching me at home ever since. I do a lot of projects on particular topics.
W: What do you think is the hardest part of doing projects?
M: Mm, deciding topics isn’t too difficult. Then I have to search for material by using the Internet, interviewing people or doing experiments. After that, I have to write a report and I find that quite hard.
W: What subjects do you study?
M: Well, there’s history — I’m not keen on that. And I know English is necessary, but I don ’t look forward to the lessons. Um, I didn’t like biology at first, but after a while I really took to it.
W: And what about when you finish your education?
M: I used to want to be a tennis player, but now I’ll just go on playing for pleasure. I might go into film-making — I’d like to do something creative. It doesn’t appeal to me to be a teacher like my mother. One in the family is enough!

Today on the food program, I’m going to tell you about two interesting websites which give you information about two very important foods — rice and noodles. First of all, let’s look at the Pagewise website. This site will tell you about the history of rice, the different types of rice and how to cook it. For example, European and American rice is grown in dry fields. But it absorbs more water than Asian rice, which is grown in flooded fields. Nowadays, more than 550 million tonnes is produced around the world each year, 92% of that being produced in Asia. Now, moving on to the Yokohama Noodle Museum site. The museum stays open later than most museums — from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, with the last admission being 10:00 pm. The museum is open every day except for Tuesday, with Sunday being the busiest day and Thursday being the least busy. The first floor of the museum has a souvenir shop. It sells bowls for eating noodles out of, equipment for making noodles — even curtains with pictures of noodles on them! You can see a display showing how noodles are made. On B1F and B2F, there are different noodle shops, which take orders until 30 minutes before closing time.
