2. To train the students’ ability of working in pair.

Educate students to protect animals.

1. Make sure students can use the pattern “What’s this in English? It’s a/an...”in real life.
2. Enable Ss to understand and speak the new words.

Make sure students can use the pattern “It’s a/an... It has... The...is so...”in real life.

Teaching procedure :
Step1. Warming-up/Revision
(1). Greetings with students.
(2)Play a touching game.
(3)Free talk :Do you like animals?. (复习动物单词,为学习新知做铺垫)
Step 2. Presentation
- Four- skilled words:monkey bear panda (通过解救动物,复习四会单词,同时使学生懂得保护动物)
(1)T:Come along,boys and girls!Let’s go to the zoo. Look!three animals are in the cage.They’re afraid..Let it free,OK?
(2)show panda and monkey with the same way
B.Learn the new words:(猜一猜,画一画动物吸引学生注意力,学习新词)
(1)Play a guessing game to learn the new word: giraffe camel
(2) teach the sentence:the giraffe/camel is so ....
C. Learn the new patterns.
Pair work :“What’s this in English? It’s a/an...”(合作学习)
Step3. Practice
(1) Watch the video and repeat the dialogue. (2)writing
Step4 Summary
Ask students to say what they have learnt this class.
Step 5 Homework
Draw your favourite animal and try to describe it.
