1. We use a reflexive pronoun as the object to refer back to the subject of a sentence.
2. We can also use a reflexive pronoun to emphasize that someone does something without help.

反身代词的用法

反身代词与它所指代的名词或代词形成互指关系，在人称、性别、数上保持一致。在句中一般作宾语、表语、同位语，不可单独作主语。

1　作动词或介词的宾语：

You shouldn’t leave the child by himself at home.

2　作表语：

I am not feeling myself today.

3　作同位语时，译为“本人、本身、自己、亲自”：

Mary herself opened the door.

反身代词的易错点

1　反身代词不能单独作主语，但可以作主语的同位语，起强调作用。

 （误）Myself can finish my homework.

 （正）I myself can finish my homework.

2　反身代词表示“某人自己”，不能表示“某人的东西”因为它没有所有格的形式。表达“某人自己的（东西）”时，须用one’s own.

 （误）I am drawing with myself crayons.

 （正）I am drawing with my own crayons.

in/ at

1　arrive in + 大地方（国家或城市）

e.g. I arrived in Beijing last night.

2　arrive at + 小地方（车站、机场、旅馆等）

e.g. I arrived at the bus station at 2 o’clock.

over/ above/ on “在……上面”

1　above “上方（不一定是正上方）”

—— below “下方”；

2　over “正上方” —— under “正下方”；

3　on “与物体表面接触的上方” —— beneath “与物体接触的下方”。

between/ among

1　between “两者之间”；

2　among “三者或三者以上的之间”。
