【精讲点拨】see的用法see sb. doing sth. 看到某人正在做某事，如：When I got home yesterday, I saw my father reading a book.see sb. do sth. 看到某人做过或经常做某事, 如： I often see Tom play football on the playground.stop的用法stop doing sth. 停止做某事，如：It’s time to have class. Stop talking, please.stop to do sth. 停下来去做某事，如：I’m too tired. I have to stop to have a rest.surprise的用法v. 使吃惊→surprising adj. 令人吃惊的        →surprised adj. 吃惊的       surprise sb. 使某人吃惊, be surprised at 对……感到吃惊, be surprised to do sth 做某事而感到惊讶, be surprised + that从句 因...而惊讶n. 惊讶 to one’s surprise 使某人吃惊的是, in surprise 吃惊地4. The bus driver, 24-year-old Wang Ping, stopped the bus without thinking twice. (1) 24-year-old由连字符连接，中间的名词year要用单数，是一个合成形容词，用于修饰名词，意为“24岁的”。24 years old中的名词year要用复数，意为“24岁”。试比较：She is a 12-year-old girl. = The girl is 12 years old.(2)  without为否定介词，意为“无；没有”，反义词为with，后跟名词、代词或动名词。5. Thanks to Mr. Wang and the passengers, the doctor saved the man in time.(1) thanks to意为“幸亏；由于”，用于句首或句尾，且用逗号与句子主体隔开。thanks for意为“因…而感谢”。 (2) in time意为“及时”，意指“恰好赶上或恰在需要时”；on time意为“按时”，强调做事情的计划性。【达标训练】一、用括号内所给单词的适当形式填空1.
