Dn't arrive late fr class; Dn't fight; Dn't run in the hallways; Dn't eat in the classrm; Dn't listen t music in the classrm; Dn't sleep in class; Dn't wear hats in class; Dn't talk in class; We can't listen t music in the classrm; We Can't fight at schl; Can we listen t music, Cindy? We can't listen t music in the hallways, but we can listen t it utside.
3.Talk abut the schl rules and family rules.

Step 1 Warming up and lead-in
T: Excuse me. What time d yu usually get t schl?
What time des the class begin in the mrning?
T: S yu are early fr class. Yu are a gd student. Can yu get t class at 8:30?
S, dn't be late fr class. We can als say: dn't arrive late fr class. This a schl rule.
Please say the sentence like this: Dn't… We can't... We must...
S1: Dn't eat in the classrm. S2: We can't sleep in class
S3: Dn' wear hats in class. S4: We can't talk in class.
Step 2 Match wrk (D 1a)
1.In this prcedure, students will learn t talk abut different schl rules.
2.Shw the pictures and say: “What can yu say t him?”
3.Nw please pen yur bks. Lk at the wrds n the left. They are wrds abut schl rules. Please read them. And we have 5 pictures. Try t match the wrds with the pictures.
Encurage the students t say smething abut the pictures and d the match wrk. Tell Ss: We shuld bey the rules, dn't break the schl rules. We shuld have gd habits.
Step 3 Listening (D 1b)
T: If yu want t be gd students, dn't break the schl rules. The rules are gd fr yur study. But nw here are sme bad students. Lk! Each f these students is breaking ne f these rules. Nw there are three students Peter, Amy and Mick. What rules are these students breaking? Please listen t the tape and write the numbers after the names.
First, ask students t catch 1b's the meanings and lk at the pictures in 1a.
Next, we'll listen t a recrding. In the recrding, peple are talking abut schl rules. Let's listen and number the 3 names. Let's see which rule each f the 3 is breaking.
Play the recrder. Then check the answers.
After this, ask students t repeat after the recrding.
Step 4 Pair wrk (D 1c)
SA is a new student. SB is telling SA abut the schl rules abve:
e.g.:
A: Dn't run in the hallways.
B: Srry, I wn't.
A: what are the rules?
B: well, we can't arrive late fr class. We must be n time.
Ask students t practice the cnversatin and make their wn cnversatins.
Ss wrk in pairs and practice saying the schl rules.
Step 5: Wrk n 2a
1.Read the sentences in 1a. Change the sentences with we can't.
2.T: Nw please pen yur bks. Lk! What can yu see in the picture?
T: Yeah, the by is Alan, and the girl is Cindy.
T: What are they ding?
S: They are talking.
T: What are they talking abut?
T: Nw let's listen t the tape and check the activities Alan and Cindy talk abut.
Step 6 Listening (2b)
Listen again. Can Alan and Cindy d these activities? Circle “can” r “can't” abve.
1.Listen and repeat.
2.Check the answer then reprt the list.
