Step1: Warming up Our earth is becoming worse and worse. What can we do to protect our only home — the earth? We can reduce air pollution by ___________. We can save water by __________________. We can save energy by ________________when we leave a room. We can protect the environment by_________ waste.
Listening tips: (1). Try to guess before listening (2). Listen for key words 2. While-listening-- to be a careful listener Listen and write down the answer Step 3: Discussion It's a good/bad habit to... Show the students some pictures and sentences, and ask them to discussion whether it is a good habit or not. Step 4:Part A2
Listening tips: (1) Pay attention to the numbers. e.g. 40 &14, 50 &15 (2) Each number must be smaller than the number 50. 2. While-listening Listen and complete the table. Step 5:Post-listening- 1. To be a confident reporter: finish Part A3. 2. To be a good interviewer and reporter: work in groups and ask your group members about their daily habits, then have a report about the results. Interviewer: Good afternoon! How many of you turn off the tap...? Reporter: Here are the results. ___ students turn off the taps when brushing teeth… Step 6:Speak up Ⅰ: Listen and answer Ⅱ: Read and answer Ⅲ: Listen, read and act IV: Make up a new dialogue Step 7. Discussion In order to protect the environment, what can we do and what can’t we do? Step 8. Homework 1. Write a letter to people to encourage them to take action to help make the earth green. 2. Talk with your parents, neighbours and friends about ways to protect the environment. | Have a free talk in groups.
