Let's look at the picture and check the questions you think are good for polite small talk with people you don't know well.Step 2: Pair work.1.First talk about these pictures in pairs.2.Then make up a conversation using one of the questions from activity 1a in pairs. Before practicing, make a model with one student for others like this:A: Do you like thrillers?B: Yes, I do. / No, I don't. But I love comedies.3.Finally act out their conversations for others.Step3: Listening.T: Here are three conversations. Let's listen and see where the people are in each conversation. Please listen twiceAre you ready?Ss: Yes.1.Play the recording for the students and let them listen twice and write down the place in the chart quickly. Do you like playing games?Ss: Yes.T: I think so. Let's play a game. Group1 write the place on a piece of paper. Group2 writes down the time on a piece of paper. Group3 writes down the persons on a piece of paper of paper. Let's see what will happen.First get ready for it. And turn in their paper.Finally ask three students, one is the place, another is the time, and the other one is the person. Student1 choose one of the places. Student2 choose one of the times. Student3 choose the person. At last, ask the fourth student read what will happen.作业布置T: Here's your homework. Please write another two Thank- you notes except the one you wrote in class.
