定义 状语从句是指在句子中用作状语、起副词作用的句子,修饰谓语、非谓语动词、定语、状语或句子。
连接词:when, while, as, befre, after, until/till, since, as sn as, by the time
连接词: because, since(因为,既然), as, fr
fr连接的并列句分句前常有逗号,其引导的分句不可放于句首。 例:It must have rained last night, fr the grund is still wet.
【注】because不能与s同时使用。
2.遵循“主将从现,主祈从现,主情从现”的原则
1.连接词:if, unless, as lng as(只要)
e.g. If I am free, I will call yu.
e.g. We shall g there tmrrw unless it rains. = We shall g there tmrrw if it desn’t rain.
e.g. Yu will succeed as lng as yu wrk hard.
连接词:s that, in rder that
E.g. Speak slwly s that/in rder that we can understand yu.
s that和in rder that后常接含can/culd, may/might, shall/shuld, will/wuld等情态动词的从句
如果目的状语从句的主语与主句的主语相同,可用in rder t 转化为简单句。
E.g. I’ll write dwn yur phne number s that I may nt frget. = I’ll write dwn yur phne number in rder nt t frget.
连接词:s that, s… that…, such …that…
名用such,形、副s,多多少少也用s。
s…that与such…that的区别
总结: ① s +形容词/副词+that… s+形+a/an+名(单数)+that… such+a/an+形+名(单数) +that… ② 用s不用such: s+many/much/few/little+形+名 ③ 用such不用s: such+形+不可数名词/可数名词复数
s…that…引导的结果状语从句可与t…t…或enugh…t…构成的简单句转换。
例句:The by is s yung that he can’t g t schl. =The by is t yung t g t schl. =The by is nt ld enugh t g t schl.
转换时t放在所修饰词之前。 t+adj./adv.enugh放在所修饰词之后。 adj./adv.+enugh

注意:, nt 中间用形容词或副词的原级。

1.连接词: thugh, althugh, even if, even thugh
例:Althugh/Thugh he is yung, he knws a lt. I’ll g even if/thugh it rains tmrrw.
【注】althugh和thugh可与yet或still连用,但不能与but连用。
连接词:where, wherever
Where there is water, there is life. 哪里有水,哪里就有生命。Wherever yu g, yu must bey the law.无论你到哪里,你都必须遵守法律。
地点状语从句 vs. 定语从句
where引导定语从句时,从句前应有一个表示地点的名词作先行词;状语从句前则无需先行词。
G back where yu came frm.(地点状语从句)你从何处来到何处去。
G back t the village where yu came frm.(定语从句,修饰village) 回到你来的那个村子里去。
连接词:as(正如,像……), as if, as thugh(好像)
as if/thugh从句所表示的情况是事实或有很大可能用陈述语气,是主观想象或与事实相反时用虚拟语气。
例句:It lks as if it is ging t rain. (非虚拟语气) He talked as if he had seen the accident. (虚拟语气)
