Here comes 2022, the Year of the Tiger! For Chinese people, the tiger is the king of all the animals. So in Chinese culture, tigers stand for being brave, strong and powerful. That's why in China you can see pictures of tigers on the walls of temples and houses. They are to protect these places from disasters and danger.
In ancient times, some great generals(将军) were called the "tiger generals". Usually generals would be given a tiger-shaped piece called hufu to send soldiers. Tigers also have a place in the lives of Chinese people. Chinese babies often wear tiger hats and shoes which are made in the shape of a tigers head. Parents hope their kids will grow to be as strong as little tigers. People make cloth tigers during Dragon Boat Festival. It is said that the "tigers" could "eat up" the bad animals and keep illness away. In some parts of China, people make tiger-shaped buns(馍) when the new year comes.
Westerners also consider tigers as a symbol of Asia. Singapore, South Korea, China's Hong Kong
and Taiwan-were once called "The Four Asian Tigers". In the book Life of Pi, the Canadian writer chose a tiger as the partner for the Indian boy Pi on his dangerous journey. French fashion brand (品牌) KENZO takes the tiger as its main pattern when it tries to show Eastern features.
Tigers are my favorite animals. If you ask my mom, she'll tell you that my best-loved toy while

Few people can stop themselves from looking at pictures of cute animals. Take Sally chicken which
is famous on the Internet as an example. The chicken with a yellow body and a flat mouth always looks lovely. Seeing her cute picture cheers people up. But there's another useful effect of cuteness.
New research has found that looking at cute pictures of animals can also help us concentrate (专注) better. The finding comes from researchers at Hiroshima University in Japan. They invited 132 university students to take part in some experiments. In one experiment, students were asked to find a given number from a list of numbers within a time limit. They performed the given tasks twice-before and after looking at seven pictures of either baby cats and baby dogs, or cats and dogs. Researchers were surprised to find that students who were shown cute baby animal pictures made fewer mistakes.
However, baby animals look both "cuter" and more "pleasant" than adult animals. What would
happen if the test difference came from their being "pleasant"? To find the answer, the researchers chose some food pictures which looked pleasant but not cute, and gave them to another group of students. But seeing the foods did not make the students perform any better in the number test. This finding suggests that seeing cute pictures makes students behave more deliberately, that is to say, they perform tasks with greater time and care.
The "power of cuteness" could be of great use. Think about situations in which people need to act
carefully: driving, office work and exams, In my first year of high school, I brought small plastic toys to school during tests. I would set them up in a row on my desk, facing me, and then get busy answering exam questions, " Susana Martinez-Conde wrote in Scientific American.

D. Seeing cute things could help people concentrate better.
31. The underlined word "deliberately" has the closest meaning to " _________ ".
A. happily B. carefully C. actively D. correctly

The 91st Academy Awards were held on February 25th. The film Green Book directed by Peter Farrelly won Best Picture, the biggest award of the night. 33 Part of the reason is that it speaks openly about the problem of racial discrimination (种族歧视).
The film is inspired by a true story. 34 In the movie, a white man named Tony is looking for part-time work. Don, a black jazz musician, needs a driver to take him on tour. Although Tony doesn’t like black people, he takes the job. He drives Don all over the southern United States.

each other. For example, in one scene, Don helps Tony write a love letter to his wife Dolores. 36
As time passes, they realize how much they are similar to each other. At the end of the film, Don
comes to Tony’s home to celebrate the festival together. That's the final picture Green Book wants to really express.
The 1960s was a hard time for black people in the US. Discrimination was usual especially in the south. 37 Though the road was hard, people could still find the way out.

However, many students think this trend(趋势) also brings problems. Some students just copy the
answers online without thinking. They become lazy.
A head teacher in Andy and John's school, Mr. Li said that knowing how to use the Internet is
