pick up(=pick up the phne) 接电话
pick up还有以下含义:
1) 捡起; 拾起
e.g. He picked up his hat and went away.
他捡起帽子后离开了。
2) 开车去接
e.g. I will g t the airprt and pick up my uncle.
我要去机场接我叔叔。
4. When yu called, I was taking a shwer.
当你打电话的时候, 我正在洗沐浴。
该句包含由when引导的时间状语从句, when意为“当……的时候”, 后面通
常接时间点, 从句中的谓语动词用短暂性动词。
e.g. When I arrived at hme, she was writing a letter.
当我到家的时候, 她正在写信。
5. S while yu were sleeping, I called Jenny and she helped me.
所以当你睡觉时, 我给詹妮打了电话, 她帮助了我。
while是连词, 意为“当……的时候”, 后面只能接一段时间, 不能接时间点,
while引导的从句中的动词要用延续性动词。另外, while引导的从句的动作或
状态往往与主句的动作同时发生。
