Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in:(大约3分钟)
To lead in by getting the students to enjoy several pictures about Mount Kilimanjaro of Africa.
T:Boys and girls,here I have a question to ask you .What do you think of Enlish?
Ss:(It’s boring.)
T:How about geography?
Ss:(It’s interesting .)
T:OK!Today let’s talk about geography & nature instead of English.OK?
Ss:OK!
T:OK,now let’s begin.First,please look at the picture,what’s the mountain?Do you know?
Ss:...
T:(It’s in Africa.And it’s the highest mountain in the world.)
Ss:Oh,it’s 乞力马扎罗山。
T:Yes,it’s Mount Kilimanjaro.Let’s go on enjoying the mountain(show several pictures about Kilimanjaro).Oh,it’s wonderful!But is it the highest mountain in the world?
Ss:No,it isn’t!
T:What’s the highest mountain in the world?
OK,today let’s have Unit 7 What's the highest mountain in the wold? Section A (1a-1c).
【教学设计说明】通过借助非洲最高峰乞力马扎罗山的图片来导入新课,让学生感受大自然的美,学生对此比较感兴趣,这对之后的教学做了很好的铺垫。
Step 2 Presentation:(大约10分钟)
1、T:What's the highest mountain in the wold?(Presenting by ppt.)
Ss:(珠穆朗玛峰。)
T:Yes,Qomolangma.(Presenting by ppt with a picture.)
-How high is it ?(Presenting by ppt.)
Ss:(-It's 8,844.43 meters high.)(Presenting by ppt.)
2、Teach and read.
3、Drill.
4、To present the longest river,the deepest salt lake & the biggest desert in the same way.
【教学设计说明】图片教学法是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一,学生通过图片,能值观的理解新单词的含义。此环节重点在新单词及词组的意思和发音上,所以要尽量让更多的学生张口说。必要的机械操练也是必不可少的,能使不同层次学生初步掌握目标语言。机械操练是英语初始阶段教学必不可缺少的部分,学生要先从模仿到初步掌握,最后才能熟练应用。机械操练时应注意着重提问成绩较差的学生,由于机械操练比较简单,因此是激发后进生兴趣,培养后进生自信心的一个很好的途径。
Step 3 Practice & action:(大约11分钟)
1、Get the students to do practice in pairs /in groups first.

2、Role-play the conversation(ask & anwser).

Step 4 Listening:Finish 1b(大约7分钟)
1)、T:Yesterday a class also had a geography lesson.Their teacher is going to test them now by asking them some questions.Would you like to go and have a look with me?
2 )、Listen & complete the sentences.(Listen twice)
3 )、Check the answers. (Listen again)
【教学设计说明】此环节着重是听说训练,培养学生的听力技能。让学生在听对话的过程中抓住关键词汇,由于前面已做了一些训练,因此学生听起来比较容易,让他们都有一次成功的喜悦和感受,这样可以增强他们的学习自信心。同时,又是一个语言输出的过程,能培养学生的语言交际能力。
Step 5 Consolidation:Writing.(大约11分钟)
Write a composition about Qomolangma,The Nile ,The Caspian Sea & The Sahara.
(The time is limited,only 5 minutes for you.You can choose one of them to write.And last let's share your composition. )
1、Write alone. 2、Share volunteer.
【教学设计说明】此环节进一步巩固本堂课所学的词汇和句型,既能充分练习学生的目标语言,使学生学以致用,同时也能极大的调动学生们的课堂参与率。本课时是一节听说课,以听说为主。但为了培养学生综合运用英语的能力,在听说课的教学过程中,应当听说领先,但读写也得跟上。这样,既培养了学生综合运用英语的能力,也能让学生有自己的作品,从而体验到成功的喜悦。
Step 6 Summary:(大约2分钟)
1、Guide the students to summarize the language points they learned in this period.
2、Ask the students to sum up the use of comparative and superative.
3、Master how to use target languages to talk about geography and nature.
4、T:Boys and girls,we have a beautiful world.Because we have beautiful mountains,rivers,and so on.We like it,of course.But some of them are polluted or destroyed.So we should try our best to protect our environment.”If everyone makes a contribution to the environment ,the world will be- come more and more beautiful.”Do you think so?

教学反思:
整个课时我努力做到设计合理,引入自然、生动、贴切,能使学生快速明了本课时的主要话题,各教学步骤连接紧密,过渡流畅。本节课主要借助图片,突出词汇教学,通过词汇的音、形、义三大方面进行新词的学习与旧词的回顾。另外,通过多种教学法,如任务型教学法,视听教学法,语境教学法等让学生把几个有关地理的词汇和目标语言在贴近生活的语境中体会和掌握,培养了学生的听说能力与合作精神。同时,通过教学,同学们热爱世界和大自然的观念得以增强。但本课时在时间分配上不够合理,有点前松后紧的感觉,致使学生的作品未能分享,在今后的教学中应加以注意。
