本课分析
本节课是本单元的第三课时,是以语法内容为核心整体设计的部分。重点语法项目是带有since和for 的现在完成时的句子。Grammar Focus表格总结了本单元的典型例句,包括由How long 引导的现在完成时的特殊疑问句,分别用for和since回答的例句,还有现在完成时的一般疑问句。
学情分析
经过了本单元前面的学习后,学生对于由how long引导的现在完成时问句和含有since 与for的答语有一定的知识基础。小部分同学对于本部分的语法知识掌握比较好,但是大部分同学对于since与for后面所接内容和持续性动词与非持续性动词区分不清。

教学方法
任务型教学法、情景交际法、自主学习法与合作学习相结合。
Step 1: Lead-in
Show several pictures and ask the students what the pictures are about. The pictures are about the Yard Sale. And ask what they will get after the Yard Sale.
T: What are the pictures about?
S: Yard Sale.
T: What will you get after the Yard Sale?
S: Money.
T: What do you want to do with the money?
Some students will want to use the money to buy things they like. Some students will buy something and give them to people in need.
T: Now do you want to sell some things to help others?
S: Yes.
设计意图:本单元前面部分大量的出现了庭院售卖的基本知识,通过熟悉的话题开启新课,学生容易融入课堂。通过询问售卖所得用处,引导孩子关爱他人。

Step 2: Michelle’s Yard Sale
T: If you want to have a Yard sale, what do you need? We need things to sell, right? Now you have a chance to get something from my Yard Sale. But in my yard sale, you can’t buy things with money. You must work hard to earn things. Let’s see which group can earn the most things.
设计意图:用实物图片形式代替原本的积分制,让学生更有积极性。

Step 3 Who is the best seller?
T: We need good sellers when we sell things. Let’s see who the best sellers are.
Show the video of two students who are in the yard sale.
Show the ppt with 4 pictures. Give the students 1 minute to prepare for the conversation. Then ask at least 4 pairs of students to show their conversation. After the conversation they can choose one thing from the blackboard. An example will be given, but each time, it will be shorter than the last time.
设计意图:以对话形式整体感知本节课的语法内容,练习问答。例句的不断减少,增强学生自主对话的意识,增加自己的语言。

Step 4 Girls: since VS Boys: for
T: To be a good seller, we need passion. How are we going to show our passion? We use our movements.
If the answer is since the girls can stand up, and the first girl can come and get the prize.
If the answer is for the boys can stand up, and the first boy can come and get the prize.
It’s time we show our passion. Are you ready?
- Becky has been a doctor________ (for, since) ten years ago.
- We are late. The movie has been on ________ (for, since) ten minutes.
- Ken, you should return the book to the library. You have kept it ________ (for, since) Monday.
- I have had this bike ________ (for, since) I was ten, so I want to buy a new one.
After this activity, ask the students to give a summary about what we will use after since and for and write them on the blackboard.

Step 5 Quick Game
T: As a seller we need intelligence. That also means we need to ack quickly. Put up your hands if you know the answer. Let’s see if you can be quick?
1. How long has Mary left?
How long has Mary been away?
2. How long has he kept the book?
How long has he borrowed the book?
3. Maria has come back since Monday.
Maria has been back since Monday.
4. Tony has had the computer for two years.
Tony has bought the computer for two years.
The students are going to pay attention to the verbs carefully and draw a conclusion about the verbs we can use in a since and for sentence in the present perfect tense. Ask the students what kind of sentence we will use to ask a question about the time. Put the question on the blackboard.
设计意图:以竞速方式增加趣味,以对比方式进行总结区分。突破持续性动词与非持续性动词难点,让学生理解为什么非持续性动词不能与since和for连用。

Step 6 Micro Class
Show a micro class about the present perfect. Ask one or two students to retell the knowledge.
设计意图:用微课形式对本单元的主要语法进行归纳总结,增加趣味性。

Step 7 Game: Watch your step.
T: We have the things to sell. We’ve got the passion and the intelligence a good seller needs. Now to have a successful yard sale, we only need a good place. Lots of mimes are under the ground, so be careful.
Ask the students to choose a mine and answer the questions.
设计意图:用踩雷的趣味方式检测学生是否掌握重点知识,查缺补漏。

Step 8 Group Work: My Flea Market(活动一)
Fill in the questions and ask the students in your group, and then complete the certificate. Give us a report about the things you are going to sell and what you will do with the money.
Question: Do you have/own a(n)____? How long have you had/owned it?
Give the students a sentence as a tip to write a report.
Sentence: We’ve had/owned/kept…for/since…
Put the picture of the group on the screen using the Teaching Assistant when the reporter gives the report.
Group Work: My Flea Market(活动二)
Complete the certificate from our school.
The leader is going to tell us the name of your group and what you will do with the money.
Then each group member describes one thing you are going to sell and what you want to say to the people you are going to help or thank.
设计意图:小组活动增加学生合作意识,将所学内容应用于真实情景,引导学生不仅要关爱他人,更要关爱身边的父母朋友等。
活动一为一人报告,活动二为全员参与对学生要求更高。
本部分设计两个小组活动备选,如果学生层次不是特别好可以采用活动一;学生英语基础不错,选择活动二。上课过程中时间充裕可以多几组同学展示,时间不够可以只展示两组,灵活确定。

反思:本节课的类型为语法课。传统语法的最大弊端就是枯燥乏味,本设计通过各种活动方式将原本枯燥乏味的语法课变得有趣。以组织庭院售卖为主线完成各项活动,以慈善为目标教育学生懂得关爱他人与身边的人,线索清晰课程流畅。但是含有since和for的现在完成时是非常难的语法点,不能够仅仅一节课解决所有问题。需要在以后的教学中不断的更正讲解。
