Edward Ⅰ created a permanent new hme fr the Ryal Menagerie at the western entrance t the Twer, which became knwn as the Lin Twer. The terrifying sunds and smells f wild animals must have bth impressed and scared visitrs.
    By 1622, the cllectin had been extended t include three eagles, tw pumas, a tiger and a jackal, as well as lins and lepards, wh were the main attractins.
    Hwever, the end f the Ryal Menagerie came in the 1830s. Campaigners had begun t raise cncerns, and the animals were expensive, ccasinally dangerus and a nuisance t the guardsmen. The Duke f Wellingtn sent 150 f the beasts t a new z in Regent's Park, tday's Lndn Z.
