Mst f the life in the cean can be fund in the first zne，which begins at the surface and ges dwn abut 200 meters.Because there is sunlight at this level，plants are able t grw.Marine animals such as dlphins，sharks，sea turtles and sea lins，and f curse a variety f fish，live in the sunlit part f the cean.It is difficult t hide frm ther animals in this area.
The secnd zne starts at 200 meters and ges dwn t abut 1000 meters.Sme sunlight can reach this level，but it is nt enugh fr plants t grw.Because this zne is relatively dark，many f the creatures that live here are able t make light with their bdy.The light frm these animals makes the water lk like a sky with mving stars in it.
The third zne f the cean is dark.This place，abut 3000 meters deep，may nt seem a likely habitat，but there are mre creatures here than ne might think.Mst f the animals that live here are black r red because f the lack f light.
Belw 4000 meters，the temperature is near freezing and there is n light at all.In fact，the zne is s dark and empty that scientists named this zne after the Greek wrd fr “n bttm”．There is nt much life t be fund in this cld and unpleasant part f the cean，but sme small creatures still manage t survive here despite the high water pressure.
The very deepest part f the cean is fund 2000 meters further dwn.At this depth，the water pressure is extremely high and life is very difficult fr the few creatures that live here.Cmpared t the ther znes，this ne has very little life.Since there is n light here，sme f the animals d nt have eyes.
