Once upon a time, a young man wanted to go to a village on business. Halfway there was a mountain. Before he left home, his family warmed him to stay calm and climb on to trees if he met beasts(野兽). In this way, the beasts couldn't do anything to him.
The young man remembered these words and began his trip.
He walked for a long time carefully and found no beasts were out there. He thought his family's worries were unnecessary. And he became relaxed as he walked. Just at that moment, he saw a large tiger running to him and he climbed onto a tree nearby at once.
The tiger roared(咆哮)around the tree and even jumped to reach the man. The young man was too scared to hold the tree and fell right on the back of the tiger. Full of fear, he had to hold the tiger tightly. The tiger thought that must be a large beast. So it was afraid and started running madly.
People on the road didn't know what happened and said, "Look at the young man. He is riding a tiger!" "Cool!" "Superman!"
Hearing these words, the young man was almost crazy "Why can't they see I'm suffering a lot? Don't they understand I am in fear and almost scared to death?" He said to himself.

Once upon a time, a king dressed up and went to a local village. He placed a large stone in the middle of the main road and hid gold coins under the stone. Then he hid behind a huge tree and watched.
The first person down the street was a milkman with his cart (手推车). He crashed into the stone and the milk spread all over the ground. “What fool put this stone here?” he shouted. He picked himself up and angrily went away.
After a while, a group of women came along, each balancing a pot of water on her head. One woman tripped over (绊倒) the stone and her water pot went crashing to the ground. She picked herself up and walked away in tears. Neither she nor her friends thought about moving the stone out of the road.
The king watched all day as many people complained about the stone, but he found nobody was willing to move it. The king wondered, “Is there no one in this village who feels any responsibility to keep their neighbors from harm?”
Just then, the king saw a young girl coming along. She was the daughter of a local farmer. She had been working all day and was very tired. But when she saw the stone, she said to herself, “This stone is a danger to anyone who comes down the road after dark. I ’ll move it out of the way.”
After a great deal of effort, the girt finally moved the stone to the side of the road. Imagine her surprise when she saw the gold coins where the stone had been.
Just then, the king stepped out from behind the tree. “Oh sir,” the girl said. “Are these coins yours? If not, we surely must find the owner, for he will certainly miss them.”
The king said, “My dear, the coins are mine, but now they are yours, because you are the only person who has learnt the lesson I want to teach my people. Nothing good can come to a nation whose people only complain and expect others to solve their problems.”

The Possum used to have a long, hairy tail. He always sang about it at the dance. The Rabbit once had a long, hairy tail, too, but he lost his in a frozen lake. He was jealous (嫉妒的) of the Possum’s, so he decided to play a joke on him.
There was going to be a dance. It was the Rabbit’s job to send out the news. And he promised to send someone to dress the Possum’s tail for the dance, so the Possum agreed to go to the dance happily.

Once upon a time, a king dressed up and went to a local village. He placed a large stone in the middle of the main road and hid gold coins under the stone. Then he hid behind a huge tree and watched.
