    “Twenty years ag tnight,” said the man,“ I dined③here at ‘Big Je’ eq \a\vs4\al(Brady's) with Jimmy Wells, my best chum, and the finest chap in the wrld.He and I were raised here in New Yrk, just like tw brthers, tgether.I was eighteen and Jimmy was twenty.The next mrning I was t start fr the West t make my frtune④.Yu culdn't have dragged⑤Jimmy ut f New Yrk; he thught it was the nly place n earth.Well, [1]we agreed that night that we wuld meet here again exactly⑥ twenty years frm that date and time, n matter what ur cnditins⑦ might be r frm what distance we might have t cme.[2]We figured⑧ that in twenty years each f us ught t⑨ have ur destiny⑩ wrked ut⑪ and ur frtunes made, whatever they were ging t be.”
