    定语从句
    一、关系副词引导的限制性定语从句
    关系副词在引导定语从句时,其功能相当于介词短语,在从句中作状语。引导定语从句的关系副词有when、where、why。
    [观察例句]
    1.That's the cinema where we ften g and see films.
    2.He enjyed the fur years when he studied in Suzhu.
    3.D yu knw the reasn why the sky is blue?
    [归纳用法]
    1.when指时间,在定语从句中作时间状语。
    I still remember the day when I first went t the Great Wall.
    我还记得我第一次去长城的那一天。
    2.where指地点,在定语从句中作地点状语。
    The huse where I lived ten years ag has been pulled dwn.
    我10年前居住的那所房子已经被拆了。
    3.why指原因,在定语从句中作原因状语。
    The reasn why he succeeded in the exam is that he studied very hard.
    他考试成功的原因是他学习很认真。

    定语从句的引导词若在从句中作主语或宾语,则用关系代词which或that。

    我们昨天参观的那所学校是新建的。(关系代词which/that在从句中作宾语)

    这就是我们的老师给我们的做此事的理由。(关系代词在从句中作宾语)
    He gave me a reasn that/which was reasnable.
    他给了我一个合情合理的理由。(关系代词在从句中作主语)

    ②The factry where his father wrks is in the east f the city.
    ③This is the reasn which/that he ffered at the meeting.

    二、“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句
    在“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句中,关系代词可用which,whm或whse。
    [观察例句]
    1.This is the reasn fr which(=why) he left in a hurry.
    2.He is a scientist f whm everyne f us is prud.
    3.This is the pilt with whm my father has wrked fr ten years.
    [归纳用法]
    1.在定语从句中充当时间、地点或原因状语的“介词+关系代词”可以同关系副词when,where和why互换(如例句1)。
    2.关系代词前的介词的选用:(1)介词与先行词构成习惯搭配(如例句1);(2)介词是定语从句中谓语的组成部分(如例句2);(3)根据句意(如例句3)。

    有些“动词+介词”短语,如lk fr,lk after,send fr,call n,cme acrss,lng fr等,不可拆开把介词置于关系代词之前。

    3.关系代词的选择
    在“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句中,先行词指人时关系代词用whm(如例句2-3),不可用wh/that;先行词指事物时关系代词用which(如例句1)。
