教材的地位和作用 本单元围绕与学生生活紧密联系的“学校活动、节日和生日”展开话题，并将话题延伸至谈论活动、节日和生日所在的日期。上个单元，学生已经学习了12个月份的单词及一些活动、节日、生日所在的月份。本课在学习Unit3的基础上，继续学习有关活动、节日、生日所在的具体日期；学习1-5的序数词和日期表达法。
2.教学目标知识目标：①能够正确听说朗读“When is…?” “It’s n…”等询问他人进行某活动的时间，并能使用这些句型进行组内、班内小调查。②能够正确听说认读词汇first, secnd, third, furth, fifth等，并且能写这些序数词的缩略形式。能力目标：根据实际情况，学生能够就某活动、节日或生日的日期进行问答。情感态度目标：培养学生积极主动地参与课堂活动，大胆开口，主动模仿；引导学生积极参加校园活动，丰富课余生活。
3.教学重难点重点：1-5序数词及缩写形式。利用句型“When is…?” “It’s n…”对学校活动、节日、生日的具体日期进行问答。难点：具体日期的表达。
五年级的学生好模仿、爱表现、记忆力强，处在学习语言知识的良好时期。他们还活泼好动，常常凭兴趣做事。因此，在教学中运用各种教学活动来激起学生的兴趣、调动学生的积极性是很有必要的。而且本单元内容与学生的日常生活联系密切，教学时，根据小学高年级阶段学生的特点，引导他们积极组织和参与校园、节日等活动，丰富课余生活。

在课堂中运用各种活动促使学生听说，让学生在互动、交流的活动中建立起自信，享受到学习的快乐，得到相关的知识，培养学生对英语运用的实践能力，让学生真正成为学习的主人。
