We are lucky to live in a rich country where we have many things. However, most of us usually  1  some things.
Electricity is one thing  2  we waste most. Lights, TVs,  3  and other things are often kept on even when no one is using them. We should turn them off when we do not need them. It  4  less than a second to do it. Anyhow, not wasting electricity save money, because we do not have to  5  the electricity we do not use.
The second thing that we often waste is water. Fresh water is precious*,  6  it shouldn't be wasted. It is only a simple matter of turning off a tap. I am sure  7  can do this easily if he wants to.
8  big waste is food. My mother  9  cook so much food that much of it was thrown away. I told her we had wasted so much  10 . She thought I was right and now cooks  11  what we can eat.
It is not  12  to be wasteful. I find there is a simple  13  of not wasting things. That is to use only what we  14 . Do not touch what we do not need.  15  this way we can stop being wasteful.

The best woman in the world is my mother; the sweetest sound in the world is Mum's voice.
Each day when I get back from school, I see my mother   1   in the kitchen, tired but happy. I really want to give her an embrace (拥抱).
Mother often says, "Parents don't want   2   from their kids. The only thing they hope to do is that their kids have a happy life."
My mother is   3   my classmate's mothers. When she gave birth to me, she was nearly 42 years old. When I become a university student, my mother will be 60 years old.
My mother has been   4   for a long time. She suffers from (患) a very serious illness. Maybe she will never fully recover (痊愈).   5   she still works hard for me every day. I want to help her, but don't know  6   I can do or where I can start. Each time my mother can't   7   form her sick bed, I feel afraid and don't want to go to school. But my mother always says to me   8  , "You must go to school. I can look after myself."
Hearing this, I wonder   9   I am a good son. The only thing I can do is to give her a warm embrace after
    school.
Let's  10  more love and care to our mothers and let them know their kids really love them.

The poor are very wonderful people. One evening my sisters and I went out and picked up four people from the street. One of them 1 a very terrible condition. I told my sisters ,“You 2  the other three. I take care of this one who looks 3  .” So I did for her all that my love could do. I 4  her in bed,and there was such a beautiful smile on her face. She took hold of my hand as she 5  “Thank you” and then she died. I could not help her but examined (检查) my heart before her. I asked myself 6  I would say if I was in her place. My answer was very simple. I would say I was hungry, cold, homeless, and I was dying,or something else, but she gave me her 7 love. Then she died with a smile on her face.
I am going to try to make a home for many people who have no home. Because I believe that love begins at home, and if we can create a home for the poor, I think that 8  love will spread (扩散) . Through this love we will be able to bring peace (和平) to the poor. So let us always meet 9  with a smile, for the smile is the 10  of love, and once we begin to love each other naturally,we will do something for others.

Middle school days are both fun and busy. Students spend their days in class, listening to the interesting and 1 boring words of the teacher. They spend the short breaks running, playing, and shouting happily  2  going back to the classroom again. But  3  should students spend their free time outside school?
In Western countries, it is ordinary for students to have a part-time job after school. And at weekends students can make their own money and learn more about the " 4  world". They enjoy the independence (独立) and (of course) money, and parents enjoy the quiet house.  5 , it seems that, in China, parents  6  so much about their children's studies that they would prefer to see their children  7 . most of their free time studying and preparing for all those exams. It is natural for  8  to feel that way in China, but I believe the answer lies in balance (平衡). Sometimes, Western school children work long hours after school to make money, and so they become too tired to listen in class or have no time for homework. But Chinese students spend  9  much time on their studies that all else becomes less important until they want that new MP4 player.
So, find a good and healthy balance! If you have a part-time job, you'll be  10 , and your parents will also be happy because you're spending the money you make and not theirs!
