The dream to travel around the world has always been in many people’s minds. The following trips to the four fantastic countries are provided for you in this travel recommendation (推荐). They can make you feel the excitement of enjoying beautiful scenery, delicious food or interesting things in 2019.
Indonesia

Vietnam suburbs or the city of Hanoi especially Ba Dinh Square, are just where you need to visit, with wonderful scenery, friendly native people, cheap food like the Bun Cha and affordable services. Cab services are only $ 10 or less compared to cab services in the States which can get as high as $ 30 for a couple of blocks away.
France

A typical school day in the UK starts around 8: 30 am. This is often even earlier elsewhere in the world, with students sitting down to their first lesson at 7:30 am in the US. The average teenager ideally needs eight to nine hours' sleep each night, but in reality a lot of teenagers struggle to get this much. A lot of the problems happen because our sleep patterns are not fixed, and they change as we grow.
So a later school start time could help to solve this problem, by ensuring to get their eight plus hours' sleep and react properly to their body's natural rhythms(节律). There has been a general change over the past 25 years to shorten the school day. This is not at the cost of teaching time (which has remained constant) but at the cost of natural breaks, which has led to reduced lunch time and lesson breaks.
A later start time could help teens' grades and health. This is mainly because it makes the management of children easier. Managing hundreds of children "playing" requires effective staffing. And there is always the fear that behavior worsens during breaks. So the theory goes that having them in class and strictly managed must be better.
But this means that students barely have enough time to absorb what they were doing in maths before suddenly they are forced to study ancient history. And teaching staff also move through from one class to another, with hardly a rest or time to refocus.
Clearly rethinking the school day could benefit everyone included. Anyway, it could also lead to better achievements of teenagers and less of a struggle for parents in the morning. For teachers, it could also mean a less stressful day all around and what could be better than that?
4. At what time do the students start their first lesson in the US?
A.7:00 am. B.7:30 am.
C.8:00 am. D.8:30 am.
5. How do schools often shorten the school day?
A. They reduce children's lunch time and lesson breaks.
B. They reduce the teaching time.
C. They properly adjust children's natural rhythms.
D. They increase more holidays.
6. What's the purpose of the short lesson breaks according to the text?
A. To make children behave better in class.
B. To make children quickly take in what they learned.
C. To reduce children's excitement.
D. To manage children more easily.
7. What can we learn about the later school start time from the text?
A. It will add to the teachers' pressure.
B. It has always been there for 25 years.
C. Parents may support it.
D. It benefits the students only
C
Parents often believe that they have a good relationship with their teenagers. But last summer, Joanna and Henry noticed a change in their older son. Suddenly he seemed to be talking far more to his friends than to his parents. "The door to his room is always shut," Joanna noted.
Tina and Mark noticed similar changes in their 14-year-old daughter. "She used to cuddle up (依偎) against me on the sofa and talk," said Mark. "Now we joke that she does this only when she wants something. Sometimes she wants to be treated like a little girl and sometimes like a young lady. The problem is understanding which time is which."
Before age 11, children like to tell their parents what's on their mind. "In fact, parents are first on the list," said Michael Riera, author of Uncommon Sense for Parents with Teenagers. "This completely changes during the teen years," Riera explained. "They talk to their friends first, then maybe their teachers, and their parents last."
Parents who know what's going on in their teenagers' lives are in the best position to help them. To break down the wall of silence, parents should create chances to understand what their children want to say, and try to find ways to talk and write to them. And they must give their children a mental (思想的) break, for children also need freedom, though young. Another thing parents should remember is that to be a friend, not a manager, with their children is a better way to know them.
8."The door to his room is always shut" suggests that the son ____.
A.keeps himself away from his parents
B.begins to dislike his parents
C.is always busy with his study
D.doesn't want to be ignored
9.What troubles Tina and Mark most is that _____.
A.their daughter isn't as lovely as before
B.they don't know what to say to their daughter
C.they can't read their daughter's mind exactly
D.their daughter talks with them only when she needs help
10.Which of the following best explains "the wall of silence" in the last paragraph?
A.Teenagers talk a lot with their friends.
B.Teenagers do not talk much with their parents.
C.Teenagers do not understand their parents.
D.Teenagers talk little about their own lives.
11.What can we learn from the passage?
A.Parents are unhappy with their growing children.
B.Parents have to talk with children face to face.
C.Parents shouldn't be angry with teenagers.
D.Parents should try to understand their teenagers.
D
What is a hero? We may think of the fictional characters with supernatural powers or great people who can influence world events. Now, as the nation continues its all-out efforts to fight against the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), medical staff have become heroes in the eyes of the public.
As of Feb. 19, a total of 32,000 medical staff outside Hubei Province have been working to treat patients around the center of the outbreak.
Zhang Dingyu, president of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, is one of these heroes. Since the hospital received the first seven patients in December, Zhang has been so busy that he barely gets any sleep. Even suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (肌萎缩性脊髓侧索硬化症), the 56-year-old doctor is doing his best to quicken his pace to save precious time for infected patients. "I have to run, racing against time to save more patients from the deadly disease, because I don't have much time left in my life," Zhang told Xinhua News Agency.
With the duty of saving lives, many medical professionals like Zhang have been working long hours for days, despite their fear and worry.
Lu Jingjing from Wuhan Children's Hospital works at a temporary mobile hospital. She does not let her parents know that she is now working with 2019-nCoV-infected patients. When her parents ask for a video chat, Lu says she is working and lets her husband and children chat with them instead.
"It's dangerous but we should win the battle with the virus as soon as possible, so that medical staff and patients can go back home," she told China Daily.
US writer Khalil Gibran (1883—1931) once wrote, "Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but the manifestations of strength and resolution." It's true for the medical workers.
Everyone has fear, especially when it comes to deadly diseases. But for medical staff, saving lives comes first and is enough for them to be brave and stay on the front. They may look like ordinary people in daily life, but in these extraordinary times, they are heroes.
12. What is the author's main purpose of writing this article?
A. To explain what makes a modern-day hero.
B. To praise medical staff for their efforts to fight against the NCP.
C. To describe what measures China has taken to deal with the virus.
D. To show the difficulties faced by medical staff treating NCP patients.
13. What do we learn from Zhang Dingyu's words?
A. His illness has turned him into an impatient man.
B. His illness makes him work without fear.
C. He feels sorry for himself because of his illness.
D. He wants to help as many patients as possible.
14. Why doesn't Lu Jingjing answer her parents' video calls?
A. She is too busy and has no time for video chats.
B. She doesn't want her parents to worry about her.
C. It's not allowed to make a video call from the hospital.
D. There is no Wi-Fi signal at the temporary mobile hospital.
15. What does the underlined word "manifestations" in the second-to-last paragraph mean?
A. results B. differences C. indications D. advantages

书面表达
One possible vision:
The person I admire most is Steve Jobs. He was an American inventor and the co-founder and CEO of Apple Inc. There are two reasons why I admire Steve Jobs: he never quit and taught me the meaning of creativity.
First, I admire Steve Jobs because when he faced challenges in his life and career, he didn’t quit. He was determined and dedicated. Did you know that he was actually fired from the company he had created? But instead of feeling sorry for himself, he continued working hard. It was during that time of hard work that Jobs developed the technology we enjoy today.
Second, I admire Steve Jobs because he taught me the true meaning of creativity. He said that creativity is just connecting things from different fields. He provided an example of this from his own life. After dropping out of college, Jobs studied calligraphy. Years later, he brought the world the first personal computer, which included beautiful calligraphic typefaces. Truly, Steve Jobs was a good teacher; he taught us how to be creative.
Steve Jobs left us with so many things of value, like Apple’s products, the iPhone and iPad, which have brought us the most modern technology. We can enjoy such technology because Jobs never gave up and understood the importance of creativity, and this is why I admire him.
