教学过程 | 1.Warm-up Activity 1) Students play a game “How fast can you answer?” where they are required to choose the right question words learned to fill up the question within the limited time.
2.Look, Listen and Say 1) Teacher throws students a question “Who took this photo?” to evoke students’ thinking before watching the video. 2) Teacher guides students to speak out the answer together after playing the video to check the general understanding. 3) The student who is picked randomly need to stand up and read out the dialogue in front of the class.
3.Listen and Read 1) To continue the dialogue in the last stage, students are given four more questions that are consisted of questions words. Teacher helps students understand each question first before giving them time to watch the video. 2) After the video, teacher randomly picks a group or an individual to answer each question. Correct answers will be displayed on the slide after students give their answers. 3) Teacher carries out a close reading activity to emphasize important words or phrases students have to grasp in the target unit. Students are also asked to take down the notes in their textbook. 4) After that, some time will be allocated for students to read the text to further tackle problems of pronunciation.
4.Listen and Repeat 1) Teacher firstly plays the audio of all letter sounds in the chart. 2) Then teacher help students differentiate some confusing letter sounds: “ar” and “or”; short “o” and long “o”; short “oo” and long “oo”.
5.Listen and Say, then Sing 1) Teacher and students listen to and learn the song “Where did you go?”. 2) Then, teacher instructs students to make funny sentences which means the facts of sentences are reasonless.
6.Key points 1) Teacher gives a short lecture about how to organize your talk about a trip you had with six questions word. 2) Then teacher shows students a picture of a trip survey between two kids. Teacher asks students to fill up the conversation they may have. Time will be given to students to prepare their sentences and teacher has one group to present their dialogues. | ||||||||||||

课后作业 | 1) Listen to and read aloud the short text in textbook page17. 2) Learn to sing the song “Where did you go?”, and write a dialogue with the topic of "Weekend Outdoor Activity", no less than six sentences. 3) Complete the synchronization exercises. | ||||||||||||
教学反思 | Letter sounds in this unit are bit difficult and confusing, therefore, teacher can prepare some word cards in the class to better practice with students. |
