In the UK, there is a ppular rute(道路) fr cyclists: the rad frm Land's End in England t Jhn O'Grats in Sctland. The rad is 874 miles (1,407 km) lng. It cvers almst the full length f Great Britain. The 12-year-ld by named Laurence Chandler became the yungest cyclist t finish the rute, firstly reprted by the BBC.
Chandler tk 20 days t finish the rute. Each day, he cycled between 40 t 60 miles (64 km t 97 km). He spent six hurs n his muntain bike daily. Chandler had t push thrugh rainy and windy days. Cycling uphill was als hard.
"It was much harder than I thught. l wasn't expecting s many hills and hw busy the rads were," Chandler said. "But if yu put yur mind t anything, then n matter hw big, yu can d it."
Chandler first thught f trying the rute when he read an article abut it tw years ag. Later, as his father's 50th birthday came arund, he decided t g fr it. He was already used t cycling arund his village and t schl befre starting his jurney.
During his ride, Chandler raised 600 punds fr Smile Train. It is a children's charity that pays fr surgery fr children in develping cuntries wh have cleft lips(兔唇).
