Unit4 Finding your wayStudy skillsTeaching objectives:Knowledge objectives : To learn about the falling tone and the rising tone.Ability objectives: To recognize the intonations of different kinds of sentences.To read the sentences with the right intonation.Emotional objectives: To express your different feelings with proper tones.Analysis of students:本节课为译林版牛津英语七年级下册Unit4 Finding your way Study skills。主要是让学生了解英语的语调对句子意思表达的影响,教会学生运用正确的语音语调来表达自己的意思。本节课的教学对象为七年级的学生,他们已经初步地掌握了听说读写的能力,但是普遍存在语音语调不正确的问题。这些问题处理不好,对学生学会正确发音和正确而有效地用英语表达和理解,都会产生难以逾越的障碍。本课以任务型教学为根本,根据初一学生的生理、心理特点,通过播放网上语调教学视频,对话视频等激发学生的学习兴趣,同时采用多种活动方式如pair work, group discussion,make a conversation, look and act等来反复操练语音语调。Teaching key points: To recognize the intonations of different kinds of sentences.Teaching difficult points: To use the intonations correctly.Teaching preparation: a tape-recorder , multimedia, and guided learning planTeaching strategy: Task-based teaching methodTeaching procedures:StepⅠLead-inWatch a video. Music has high notes, low notes and the notes in the middle. English is just like music. There are falling tones and rising tones when we speak.【设计意图】将英语语调与音乐类比,让学生产生共鸣,然后引入升调和降调的概念。2. Show the learning aimsStepⅡ PresentationGive an explanation of intonation.Watch a video to understand it further. Do a match1) Learn some sentence types that we often use.2) Match some important sentences in this unit with the right sentence types.4. Listen and find out the rules1) Show four groups of sentences on page51. Listen to the recording and pay attention to the end of the sentences. Then read them out loud.2) Make a conclusionWhen we speak, we drop our tone at the end of a statement.When we ask a wh-question, our tone usually falls at the end of the questionWhen we ask a yes / no question, our tone rises at the end of the question.We make our tone rise at the end of a sentence to show surprise.【设计意图】观看外教制作的关于语调的教学视频,让学生认识到不同的句型需要用不同的语调来读。进而介绍常用的句子类型并让学生做匹配练习。在学生能够正确识别句型后,通过听本课句子录音,练习模仿正确的语调。StepⅢ Practice Task1 Discussion 1. Work in groups and discuss the sentences we mentioned before : Which tone should we use, rising or falling?2. Read them out loud.3. Make a summaryTask2 Watch and repeat1. Read the conversation below. Put a falling arrow or a rising arrow at the end of each sentences.2. Watch another video between the man and the woman, repeat after it 3. Role-play the conversation.Task3 Pair work1. Read the conversation between Millie and Sandy.Put a falling arrow or a rising arrow at the end of each sentences.2. Listen and check answers.3. Listen again and repeat after the tape.4.
