1. master the new words, phrases and useful expressions;
2. grasp some information about the Palace Museum through the listening material;
3. make a plan to go out properly and clearly;
4. improve the awareness of being good visitors and protecting the environment.

Step One Lead in
(This step is designed to lead in some words, phrases and expressions, especially one of the main topics of this lesson.)
T: Boys and girls, what’s the weather like today?
Ss: It’s sunny.
T: Do you think a sunny day is a good time to go out?
Ss: Yes.
T: Last weekend, I went to Nanhu Lake park. Can you guess what I did there?

T: I took the ferries wheel there. Did you go there before?
Ss: Yes.
T: What can you do there?

T: How far is it from our school?

Step Two Simon’s plan to go out
(This step is designed to deal with the Speak Up on page 38 and make some preparation for their own plan.)
T: I had a good time last weekend. Simon and Neil also want to go out. Let’s listen and find out what happened.

T: Yes. Beihai Park is a place of interest in Beijing. And there are many places of interest in Beijing. Let’s have a look.

Step Five While Listening: The Palace Museum
(This step is designed to help the students to improve their listening skills.)
T: There are so many things to see in the Palace Museum. Neil also wants to visit the Palace Museum. Read the poster first and fill in the right part of the table.

Step Seven Post-listening: An email
(This step is designed to make the students have a comprehensive understanding of the listening material.)

Step Eight Group work
(This step is designed to improve their awareness of protecting the places of interest and encourage the students to be good visitors.)
T: Neil has a good time at the Palace Museum. But some people don’t feel happy when they go out. Let’s enjoy a video and find out what they do.

Teaching reflections:
本节课的内容主要是7BUnit 3 Integrated skills 这部分的内容,在课堂构思的过程中,我主要围绕这节课的主要目的听和说来设计,基于学生自己身边所熟知的环境来引入和过渡,尽量使得整节课流畅而完整,最后以作为一个good visitor 来作为升华,提醒孩子在参观和游览时应当爱护环境,保护景区资源。
从我自己的设计意图和期盼来看,我觉得整节课具有以下几个特点:材料和活动相对较对,注重语言的输入和输出;话题贴近学生的生活,三个沭阳本地的公园,能激发孩子说的欲望,减轻孩子的活动压力,最后的视频也比较符合他们的年龄层次;对听力进行了分割,降低了听力的难度,同时增加了短文填空,有助于孩子更准确的把握听力信息;整节课不管从预设还是到课堂内容结束,相对较流畅,过渡也比较自然。
但在上课过程中以及上课之后,也能明显感觉到里面的不足。第一,导入部分与板书契合度不够,有的有助于孩子在对话中展现的短语没能及时板书;第二、对话开放性不够,限制较多,不益于孩子的自我发挥;第三,故宫图片的呈现与海报在设计上有重复,没有难度梯度的上升;第四、在时间的把握上还有待提高,最后的小组活动时间不够,开展的不是特别充分;第五、整节课中规中矩,没有什么创新点和亮点。
希望在未来的工作和学习中,能够多听取经验丰富的老师们的意见,争取在下一次课上能扬长避短,有所提升。
