Thse first cuple f days, Plly caught him starting t lift a leg n the tree twice. But he learned quickly and settled fr sniffing frm a distance.
    The weekend befre Christmas, Dad and Plly tk us t watch the new hliday mvie. Excited, we jumped int the car with bags f hme-made ppcrn, and ff we went fr a great evening.
    A few hurs later, we returned hme, nly t terrible mess. It wasn’t the Christmas tree. In fact, we weren’t sure what it was. We std just inside the dr staring at the mess. As it turned ut, it was Jake’s bed, which he’d destryed. Left alne fr the first time, he must have gtten bred, attacked it and left it fr dead. We didn’t knw that the bed was nt the nly victim.

    When the much-anticipated day finally arrived, my family and I drve t Carriage Huse. Walking thrugh the enrmus duble drs, we stepped int an entryway that verlked the spacius grand dining rm. Right at the entrance t the dining rm std the pian as if it were just waiting t make sme music t liven the place up a bit. At nearly every table several gray-haired wmen r men were seated enjying their dinner and the cmpany that the crwded rm prvided. Despite the cnversatins ging n at varius tables thugh, islatin hung like a dark clud in the rm.

    I always dreamed f making a big surprise f a lifetime. Thanks t a little determinatin, sme luck, and a generus helping f Christmas Spirit, my dream became a reality.
    My family is Canadian, althugh my sister mved dwn t Australia a few years ag t study. She was graduating just befre Christmas, but due t my wn schlarly schedule back hme, I wuld be unable t make it dwn in time fr her graduatin. She was understandably disappinted, and I felt guilty that I wasn’t able t be there fr her n this special ccasins.
