Teaching aims:
Language knowledge:
1. Students are able to grasp these new words: where, table, bed, bookcase, sofa, chair, on, under, come, desk, room, hat, radio, clock, tape, player, model, plane.
2. Students will be able to use the singular and plural form of nouns and verbs properly.
Language skills:
1. Students are able to use the following expressions and structures:
--Where is my …?
--It's /They’re on/ in/ under the…
2. Students are able to talk about where things are and use “in” “on” “under” properly.
Learning: Students are able to cultivate cooperative ability and gain more practice opportunity by group work, and work in pairs.
Effects: Students will learn to put the things in the right places.
Cultural: Students will learn the differences about the expression of position, for example: “on the bus” means “在公交车里”
Teaching emphasis:

Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Lead-in
T: Hello, class! How was your weekend?
S: …
T: Do you want to know something about my weekend?
T: I had a very busy weekend. Last weekend I visited my little brother and taught him English. But when I was ready to leave I couldn't find some important things. Can you help me to find those things?
Show a picture of my room in mess and let students to say what they are and where they are.
Step 2 Presentation
Show pictures and words of table, bed, bookcase, sofa, chair, desk, hat, radio, clock, tape, tape player, model plane.
1.At first the show the picture of things with a part covered and let students guess what it is or what they are.
2.Then show the place of the thing and teach the use of “in” “on” “under” and the structure “It’s in/ on/ under …”/ “They’re in/ on/ under…”
Step 3 Drill
Show several pictures of different things in different places and let students do drilling in pairs.
Then ask some pairs show in the class.
Step 4 Practice
T: Thank you for helping me find the things. But I got my brother’s home quite late because I wasted much time in finding things. We learned English for some time and I had to go back home. However, I can’t find my things again. Please help me for one more time.
T: Work in group of 6. I will give each of you a hint. Ask in your group one by one with the words and structures on the PPT. For example, I ask “Where is my hat?”. If you got the hint for this question then answer and the others write the right words in the right places.
Step 5 Practice
T: Discuss in the group of 6 and try to put the things into the right places.
Then do a speech with the structures on the PPT in your group, then invite some students show in the class.
Step 7 Conclusion
My weekend is very busy because my bad habit. Do you have the bad habit? Lte’s see overcome it first.
