第二课时： Unit 2 What is the best way to travel?  （读写课）

学习目标：

1.学习并掌握生词：journey, book, park, outside, however, cost.

2.学习最高级级,进一步掌握形容词，副词加-est 和most 的用法。

3.能够使用形容词，副词的最高级形式给他人提些关于旅行的建议。

教学过程：

Step 1. Warming up

【师生活动】

Listen and chant with the tape. ( The fastest way to go)

【设计意图】以Chant的方式，复习上节课学过的最高级；同时做到与学生互动，调动学生积极性。

Step 2. Lead--in

【学生活动】

Read the new words three times.

【师生活动】

T：What is your favorite place?     Ss: My favorite place is_____________.

T：How do you get there?         S: _____________________________.

T:  What’s the cheapest way to get there? S;____________________________

T:  What’s the best way to get there?    S:_______________________.

【设计意图】师生对话，复习旧知识，进一步学习形容词副词最高级，以达到灵活运用的程度。

【设计意图】此环节是分层阅读中的快速阅读环节，让学生学会跳跃式阅读来迅速捕捉有用的信息。

【教师活动】Let the students read the text carefully.

【学生活动 1】Read the passage and complete the table.

Then check the answer.

【设计意图】此环节是分层阅读中的细读环节，再次阅读文章，把握细节内容，深层挖掘文本信息，把本课主要单词及语法融汇于内，加深印象。通过阅读，仔细对比不同旅行方式的优缺点，让学生旅行时合理选择交通方式。

【学生活动 2】

1.Read and complete the passage with the correct form of the words in the box.

There are four ways to travel from London to Amsterdam. The first _______

is by  train because the _____ takes only by four hours. _______, it is quite expensive. Going by car and by ship, or by coach does not _______as much as going by train. When you go  by car and by ship, remember that parking in Amsterdam is not cheap, so it is best to stay _______the city centre and travel in by bus or by train. Going by plane is the ____ ,but you need to go to the airport. It also takes time.

2.Watch the video and check the answer.

提问引入主题法：以问句形式作为小标题，点出文章主题，引人入胜。

According to it, retell the text.

【设计意图】这个任务的设计是为了在学生进行了快速阅读和仔细阅读的训练后，通过复述进一步巩固文章内容。掌握文章的基本框架，是为了让学生了解书面表达的写作技巧及方法。此环节是为下一步进行写作做准备。

Step 5. Writing

Let the students compare the ways of travelling from London to Pairs.

【学生活动】

1. Work in pairs. Ask and answer about the ways of travelling. Use the information in the table.

2. Write a short passage. Use the information in Activity 5 and the passage in Activity 2 to help.

3.Show their passages to other students in the class.

【设计意图】本环节为知识的输出阶段，让学生通过对比不同交通方式的优缺点，合理选择出行方式。

Step 6 Summary and homework

Read the text in Activity 2 , and write down four important sentences.

Make up sentences with “The+比较级，the+比较级 ;the +序数词+最高级 ; as much as”
