The Schl f the Air My name is Belinda Black. I am thirteen years ld, and I cme frm Munt Elm Sheep Statin in Suth Australia.I have gt tw sisters—Jennifer is eleven and Lisa is seven. We are all pupils at the Schl f the Air. The Schl f the Air is a schl fr children wh live far frm the cities, and wh are in a place which des nt have a lcal schl. S we have “air” lessns ver the radi r n the cmputer. Our teachers are at Prt Augusta, a city which is abut 160 kilmetres away.
In the mrning, we g t ur classrm at 8：45.It is really just a small building. When we get there, we turn n the radi r cmputer and listen t what we shuld d. Frm then until twelve, we just d ur usual lessns. In the afternn, ur mum makes us d sme hmewrk—well, nt hmewrk, but mre wrk arund the huse. We send ur exercise “bks” t ur teachers by email n Friday night. They mark them n Mnday and Tuesday, and then send them back. We get them n Wednesday. The Internet and the telephne help us get in tuch with ur teachers quickly and easily. We talk t ur teachers nce a week fr abut ten minutes. They tell us if we are making prgress.
