系动词本身有词义, 后接表语, 构成系表结构, 说明主语的状况、性质、特征等情况。目前需掌握的系动词主要有:
1. 系动词be, 用来表示主语状态。如: She is a teacher.
她是一名教师。
2. 感官动词表示人的感官动作。我们学过了五个与人的感觉有关的动词,它们是lk, sund, smell, taste和feel, 我们称之为感官动词。如: These flwers smell very sweet. 这些花闻起来很香。 The tmates feel very sft. 这些西红柿摸起来很软。 Her idea sunds very interesting. 她的主意听起来很有趣。

你看起来很漂亮。
感官动词(feel / smell / sund / lk / taste ...)的用法:
1. 这五个感官动词均可作连系动词, 后面接形容词作表语, 说明主语所处的状态。其意思分别为“看/听/闻/尝/感觉起来……”。除lk之外, 其他几个动词的主语往往是物, 而不是人。如:
2. 这五个感官动词后面也可接介词like, like后面常跟名词。如:
Yur idea sunds like a gd ne. 你的主意听起来不错。
3. 这五个感官动词也可作实义动词, 除lk作“看起来……”讲时, 只能作不及物动词外,其余四个既可作及物动词也可作不及物动词,此时作为实义动词讲时其主语一般为人。如:
I smelt the flwer.
我闻了闻那朵花。
4. 这五个感官动词的否定和疑问形式要借助助动词。如:
The shirt desn’t feel sft. 这件衬衫摸起来不柔软。 Des the air smell nice? 空气闻起来很好吗?
