If yu culd travel in time, where wuld yu g?
Perhaps yu wuld watch an riginal perfrmance f a Shakespeare play in Elizabethan England? What abut hanging ut with Lazi in the Spring and Autumn perid? Or maybe yu’d vyage far ahead f the present day t see what the future hlds.

But culd time travel actually be pssible? Sme scientists say yes, in thery. They prpse using cracks in time and space called “wrmhles”, which culd be used as shrtcuts t ther perids. Einstein’s thery f relativity allws time travel in extreme circumstances. And British physicist Stephen Hawking says yu culd travel int the future with a really fast spaceship—ging at nearly the speed f light, thugh building such a spaceship wuld f curse be n simple task.
Even if yu culd travel int the past, there is smething called the “grandfather paradx”. It asks what wuld happen if a time traveller were t g back in time and kill his wn grandfather and therefre prevent himself frm being brn. If the time traveller wasn’t brn, hw wuld he travel back in time?
And wuld yu really like t visit the future? In HG Wells’s bk, the main character travels int distant time where he arrives at a beach and is attacked by giant crabs. He then vyages 30 millin years int the future where the nly living thing is a black blb with tentacles(触角).

The Art f Digitizing Ancient Calligraphy
Frm the mment we wake up and check the messages n ur smartphnes, we’re expsed t text design. Thrughut ur day, strefrnts and websites annunce themselves thrugh the typefaces(字体) they use. Adnian Chan, a 33-year-ld Hng Kng graphic designer, calls the different texts a "visual landscape".
In his hmetwn, signs written in traditinal Chinese characters can be fund arund every crner. One calligraphy style, abve all, has cme t represent Hng Kng fr Chan: Beiwei Kaishu, which has its rigins in 4th century China. After Wrld War II, Beiwei Kaishu was used widely in Hng Kng signs, partly because it is highly recgnizable, even frm far distances.
But with the appearance f LED signs and cmputer-generated(计算机合成的) typefaces, signs written in the style were disappearing frm Hng Kng. As a result, few designers wrking tday are aware f the Beiwei Kaishu style.
In 2016, Chan asked a master f calligraphy in Hng Kng t teach him t write in the Beiwei Kaishu style. He then started the prcess f digitizing the characters. He first writes the characters n paper with a brush and ink. Next, he makes a pencil sketch. Finally, he recreates the characters digitally, using a cmputer prgram called Glyphs.
One f the main challenges when digitizing the ancient calligraphy is striking a balance between the artistic expressin and the need f design, says Chan. He can cmplete tw characters a day, depending n their cmplexity(复杂性), and is aiming t digitize 6, 000 characters.
Chan says his prject is mre than preserving a centuries-ld writing style and that he sees himself as building n the wrk f previus generatins. He has named his typeface Beiwei Zansyu and hpes it will eventually be installed n phnes and cmputers.
Why was Beiwei Kaishu ppular in HngKng after Wrld War II?
A.It has a lng histry.
B. It can be seen clearly.
C. It was a symbl f HngKng.
D. It fitted in the “visual landscape”.
29. What leads t the disappearing f Beiwei Kaishu?
A. Its pattern. B. Urban develpment.
C. Its designers. D. New technlgies.
30. What can we infer frm the last tw paragraphs?
A. Beiwei Zansyu will be available sn.
B. Beiwei Zansyu lks great n phnes.
C. The cmplexity f Beiwei Zansyu limits Chan’s speed.
D. Preserving the Beiwei Zansyu’s style is Chan’s nly purpse.
