Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching material
In the unit, the main words are “young, handsome, thin, pretty, old”. The main structures are “Who’s your …? What’s he like …? Does he like…? ”
Ⅱ. Analysis of the students
The students can use simple sentences to express themselves. They’re interested in English and willing to speak English more.

1) Be able to listen and read the words and dialogues.
2) Be able to ask and answer questions.

Ⅵ.Teaching Procedure:
Step1.
学生默读课文,选择答案,班内校正,及时评价。
T: Let’s act.
学生分组展示。及时评价。
T: Who is he/she?
Ss: He’s / She’s our maths teacher / art teacher / music teacher.
学生听音跟读。
Step2. Read the text and tell the main idea of the text in the students' own words.
Let the students speak in front of the class. Encourage them not to be shy when they stand there. Give the students chances to speak loudly in front of the class.
Step 3. Work in pairs.
Boys and girls, who’s your maths teacher?
Ss: Mr. Du.
T: What does he look like?
Ss: He’s young and handsome.
Step4. Encourage the students to ask more questions about this part.
Divide the class into groups of three or four to finish the task. Ask all of the students to take part in the discussion.
Step 5 Listen and answer
1. Play the audiotape and ask the students to listen carefully.
2. Pick some students out to answer the questions. Explain how to show ways and show some useful phrases
Step 6 Read and comprehension
1. Lead the students to understand the dialogue sentence by sentence.
2. Ask the students to read the dialogue together. But before that, make sure the students can pronounce the words in this lesson correctly.
Step7 Sum up
1. Let the students close their books. Ask them to say what they learned in this lesson. Ask some volunteers to write on the blackboard.
2. Do some exercises.
Step 8 Homework
1. Finish off the exercises in the textbook.
2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
