    One day, I was in class, feeling fine, when all f a sudden my heart started racing. I brke ut in a sweat, feeling ht and cld all ver. My chest hurt, I was dizzy, and I felt like I culdn’t breathe. Everything went

    And then, an hur later, it did the punding heart, the dizziness, the feeling that I was dying. Once again, I
    culdn’t breathe. And this time. there was als pain thrughut my entire upper bdy. I burst int tears and ran fr the hallway again, actually afraid fr my life. My teacher ran after me asking what was wrng. Panicking, I managed t chke ut, “I need an ambulance: Please. “I was sure I was dying.”
    T my surprise, thugh, my teacher didn’t grab her phne fr help. Instead, she put her hand n my arm
    and tld me t slw dwn. “Breathe, ”she said. “yu’re ging t be kay. Yu just need t calm dwn.”
    I felt like I was ging crazy. Here I was ttally lsing it, and she was acting like nthing was wrng! She
    kept n trying t calm me dwn, but I wasn’t ready t listen. I was sure she didn’t understand hw I felt. Hw culd she? Hw culd anyne? Finally, my teacher explained that she was pretty sure I was having a panic attack. (They are als called anxiety attacks.)
