    inevitably inexplicable. I wish t recgnize anything that is inexplicable as being s nt because the demands f my reasn are wrng (they are right, and apart frm them I can understand nthing), but because I recgnize the limits f my intellect. I wish t understand in such a way that everything that is inexplicable shall present itself t me as being
    necessarily inexplicable, and nt as being smething I am under an arbitrary bligatin t believe.
    That there is truth in the teaching is t me indubitable, but it is als certain that there is falsehd in it, and I must find what is true and what is false, and must disentangle the ne frm the ther. I am setting t wrk upn this task. What f falsehd I have fund in the teaching and what I have fund f truth, and t what cnclusins I came, will frm

    At first it seemed t me that these were aimless and irrelevant questins. I thught that it was all well knwn, and that if I shuld ever wish t deal with the slutin it wuld nt cst me much effrt; just at present I had n time fr it, but when I wanted t I shuld be able t find the answer.     and t demand replies mre and mre insistently; and like drps f ink always falling n ne place they ran tgether int ne black blt.
