S I dialed 120 immediately and perfrmed first aid befre the dctr came. First, I put his left ft in a mre cmfrtable psitin. Then I rushed t a shp nearby and fetched bags f ice,and carefully applied the ice t the injury.
It wrked! Abut ten minutes later,the swelling seemed t have gne dwn a little. And I cvered the injury with a clean and dry bandage. Just at that mment an ambulance arrived and tk Tny t the hspital.
Only then was I aware f what a difference a basic knwledge f first aid culd make. I later said t Tny, “By n means can I justify standing by and ding nthing in such a case. Learning abut first aid is practical. As humans, we share a respnsibility t lk after ne anther’s welfare.”
