After this, people started the tradition of admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families.Teaching Difficulties1. Ss needs to know the timeline of the story about Hou Yi and Change.2.T needs to teach Ss some expressions about the Mid-Autumn Festivalso as to help them retell the story about Hou Yi and Changs.Teaching Aidsmultimedia courseware or other realia that the T needs for teaching   Teaching ProceduresTipsStep 1 Warming up        Ask Ss to watch a video about the Mid-Autumn Festival and then answers the questions:1. When is the Mid-Autumn Festival?2. What do people eat on the Mid-Autumn Festival?3. How do people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival?       T can teach some expressions about the Mid-Autumn Festival to Ss:full moon 满月    a moon-shaped dessert 一种圆月形的点心enjoy the sight of the round and bright moon 欣赏又圆又大的月亮The moon was rising from the sea and all the people were sharing this moment 海上生明月,天涯共此时Step 2 Presentation & Reading 该练习是warm up的延伸。warm up以背景知识和语言输入为主,此处为输出练习,学生可以运用在warm up了解到的知识和表达去介绍中秋节,为学习本课文章做铺垫。                        Pre-reading       T can ask Ss to talk more about the Mid-Autumn Festival with their partners. T can use the prompts:1. Are there any special activities on the Mid-Autumn Festival in yourhometown?2.What’s the story about the Mid-Autumn Festival?       Ask Ss to read the sentences in 3b and try to put the events of Change Flying to the Moon in correct order.Chinese people are very familiar with the story of Change Flying to the Moon, so T can ask Ss to do the exercise in 3b before reading the story. It is a way to help Ss sort out the timeline of the story. (Sequencing is also a useful reading strategy.) Answers can be checked after reading the passage.       Show Ss the passage and ask them to read the passage.       Ask Ss to answer the questions after reading:How do people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival?They celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by admiring the moon and sharing mooncakes with their families.What story is the reading about?The reading is about the traditional folk story of Hou Yi and Change.       Ask Ss to read the passage again and check the answers of the exercise in 3b. Answers: 4, 2, 5, 1, 7, 6, 3Step 3 Language points learning 现在完成进行时:现在完成进行时, 表示动作从某一时间开始, 一直持续到现在。其构成为:主语+助动词(have/has) +been+动词的现在分词+其他成分。shape的含义及其作名词时的常见搭配:keep in shape / out of shapewhoever的用法:作代词引导主语从句,相当于anyone who;引导让步状语从句,相当于no matter whohowever的用法及其与but的区别: however可位于句首、句中、句末,用逗号隔开;but位于句中。steal的含义及其与rob的区别:steal指暗中窃取别人的东西,其宾语是物,不是被盗者本人;rob意为“抢劫”,其宾语为人、公司、银行等,而不是被抢的东西。refuse, lay out, dessert, tradition, admire, as a result/as a result of的含义及用法。Step 4 Summary & Homework     此练习是对全文的总结与回顾,既与文章相关,也有让学生发散思考的空间。Post-reading可跟据老师的教学设计迁移至language points前。 Post-reading       Ask Ss to finish the exercises in 3c without looking at the passage.Answers: 1.admire 2.traditional 3.magic 4.steal 5.laid       Give Ss thinking time to think about the following questions and then choose a few Ss to share their answers:1. Why do people eat mooncakes on the Mid-Autumn festival?2. Can you describe the personality of each character in   this story? Can you find some details to support your idea?3. Can you retell the story of Chang’e and Hou Yi?Summary       Ask Ss to do the exercises from PPT P39-40.Homework       Preview the grammar points of this unit.       Do the exercises in students’ book.Teaching ReflectionIn this period, we should provide students with reading practice using the target language. Students have an opportunity to test their reading comprehension in 3b. They will learn new words and expressions by reading practice.The culture of the traditional festival is very important in the period.Students should know the origin of the MidAutumn Festival and use the language to disseminate culture.
