教学过程 |
Show the pictures about Thanksgiving. Ask “Can you guess what festival it is?.” Students may guess out. Then show the pictures of Thanksgiving. Play the cartoon about Thanksgiving introduction. Say “Today we’ll learn something about this festival.”
(1) New words.
(2) Lead in. Show the picture of Part 1. Ask “What festival does Sam and Daming talk about?” Students can guess it’s Thanksgiving. Then ask “What do people say on that day?” Students are interested in it. (3) Watch and answer. Watch the video then have students answer the question. They say “thank you” for their food, family and friends. (4) Watch and repeat the dialog with the video. (5) Key points. Learn the use of preposition of “on”. It is used before the festival, what day and the date. Give examples to help understand. “Thank you” is equal to “Thanks”. Learn the phrases “Thank you for sth” and “Thank you to sb”. Show two pictures to practice them. Give the example sentences. (6) Retell. Retell part 1 by completing the dialog. (7) Act out the dialog in groups. Then choose the excellent groups to praise. (8) Lead in. Show the first picture of Part 2. Ask “What day is tomorrow?” Students can answer it according to the picture. Then ask when Flag Day is. Students can answer it according to the calendar. Teacher asks again, “What do people do on that day?” Show another picture of Part 2. Ask “What American festival do they talk about?” Students can answer it according to the picture. Then ask “What do people do on that day?” (9) Watch and answer. Watch the video then have students answer the question. Show three pictures to help understand Thanksgiving. (10) Choose. Choose the right answers according to the dialog. (11) Watch and repeat the dialog with the video. (12) Key points.
(13) Phrases. Sum up the useful expressions of this unit. Pay attention to the pink words. (14) Retell. Retell Part 2 by completing the dialog. (15) Act out the dialog in groups. Then choose the excellent groups to praise.

(2) Fill in the passage with the right words. The passage is about Part 2. This part can help students understand the dialog better. (3) Listen and say. Listen to the recording and repeat with it. (4) Recite. Revise the phrases. First translate the English into Chinese. Then speak English according to the Chinese meanings. (5) Introduce. Show the postcard of Christmas. Introduce the festival with the help of the pictures. Teach students to write the composition of “What’s your favourite festival?” First let students write by themselves. Then give a model composition to get students to copy. (6) Sentence game. Show the pictures of these three American festivals. Students ask and answer one by one according to the given sentences. (7) Guess the festival. One student introduce the festival, and the other guess what festival it is.
