New wrds and expressins
unlad v. 卸(货)wden adj. 木制的extremely adv. ccur v. 发生astnish v. 使惊讶pile n. 堆
wllen n.
1. When a plane frm Lndn arrived at Sydney airprt, wrkers began t unlad a number f wden bxes which cntained clthing.
比如多穿衣服-wear mre clthes;你的衣服真漂亮-Yur clthes are very beautiful. 比如“童装”-children’s clthing;“吃、穿、住”-fd,clthing and shelter。
2. N ne culd accunt fr the fact that ne f the bxes was extremely heavy.
The bad weather in England accunts fr Harrisn‘s decisin t leave the cuntry.
Hw d yu accunt fr the battered car?
3. It suddenly ccurred t ne f the wrkers t pen up the bx.
(2)it在句中为先行主语,代替不定式t pen up the bx。
pen up bxes/gifts
When he received the gifts, he pened them up at nce.
4. He was astnished at what he fund. A man was lying in the bx n tp f a pile f wllen gds.
表示某事使/让某人吃惊通常用sb. is/are/was/were… astnished at sth.:
Sam appears astnished at the news/the sund.
①lie作“躺,卧、处于(位置)”解 时,过去式为:lay,过去分词为:lain;
②lie作“撒谎”解时,过去式为:lied,过去分词为:lied;
n tp f, 在……上层
She put the bread n tp f a pile f ther gds.
头部”,我们使用at the tp f短语。比如:Write yur name at the tp f the page.
5. He was s surprised at being discvered that he did nt even try t run away.
6. After he was arrested, the man admitted hiding in the bx befre the plane left Lndn.
Admit ding sth.
He admitted stealing the mney.
7. He had had a lng and uncmfrtable trip, fr he had been cnfined t the wden bx fr ver eighteen hurs.
Last weekend, Tm's mther cnfined him t his rm.
8. The man was rdered t pay £3,500 fr the cst f the trip. The nrmal price f a ticket is £2,000!
She paid £ 50 fr that dress.
arrive at 到达
a number f 许多
accunt fr 说明…的原因
it ccurs t sb.
be astnished at 对…
n tp f 在…上面
a pile f 一堆
admit ding sth.
be cnfined t 受…的限制
