Intelligence makes fr better leaders. It certainly makes sense that handling a market shift r anything like that requires intelligence. But new research n leadership suggests that, at a certain pint, having a higher IQ stps helping and starts hurting.
Decades ag, Dean Simntn, a psychlgist frm the University f Califrnia, Davis, came up with that brilliant leaders' wrds may simply g ver peple's heads, that their slutins culd be mre cmplicated t carry ut and that fllwers might find it harder t relate t them. Nw Simntn and tw clleagues have finally tested that idea, publishing their results in Jurnal f Applied Psychlgy.

The managers tk IQ tests and each was rated (划分等级) n the leadership style and effectiveness by an average f eight c-wrkers. "The wrng interpretatin wuld be 'Dn't hire high-IQ leaders'."
The study's lead authr, Jhn Antnakis, a psychlgist at the University f Lausanne in Switzerland, suggests leaders shuld use their intelligence t use creative language that will persuade and inspire thers — the way frmer U. S. President Barack Obama did. "I think the nly way a smart persn can signal their intelligence prperly and still cnnect with peple," Antnakis says, "is t speak in charming ways."

    ⑥at the ft f为固定短语,意为“在……
