Lesson 3 A volunteer teacher

教学目标与核心素养：

知识目标：To listen for specific information and understanding words in context.

能力目标：To express another person's life and why they are inspirational.

情感目标：To understand volunteers play an important role in social life.

教学重难点

教学重点：Students shall grasp -ed and -ing endings.

教学难点：Students may want to read slowly and understand every word when skimming.

课前准备：多媒体，黑板，粉笔

教学过程：

一、Pre-class

1. Greeting

2. Leading-in

学生活动：让学生们看图片a和b，并回答问题What do you think of the school? What would it be like to be a volunteer teacher there?

以下单词对学生的回答有帮助作用。

small classrooms/rooms       unstable power and water supplies

活动目的：引出本堂课要讲的话题，把学生的注意力吸引到课堂上来，积极参与课堂讨论。

二、  While-class

1. 学生活动：教师要求学生们阅读以下两个问题，并根据要求进行相关学习步骤，最后完成两个问题。

(1) The following is a featured report. Look at the title and photos. Predict what you will read in the report.

(2) Read and check your predictions. Answer the questions.

· What did Zhang Tian's parents want him to do? What did his friends do?

· Where did he work as a volunteer teacher? Why did he choose to go there?

· What did he decide to do after a year?

学生活动：培养学生们快速阅读能力以及快速获取信息的能力。

2. 学生活动：教师要求学生们仔细阅读文章，完成以下步骤。

Complete the information. Then tell your partner about Zhang Tian.
