教学目标： At the end of the class, the students will be able to: 1. learn to use “Can you/he/they…?”and to make invitations. 2. use the following structure to talk about obligations: I might have to/must… 3. learn how to communicate with others politely.
教学重点： 1. Key vocabulary: invite, accept, refuse... have the flu,might have to... 2. Key sentences: a. Can she go to the baseball game? b. Sure, I’d love to./Sorry, I must study for a math test. c. They might have to meet their friends.
教学难点： The usage of the word can.

Step 2 Grammar Focus (PPT 6-14)		1. Show the Grammar Focus and work on Grammar Focus. 2. Ask Ss to read the sentences in this part and pay attention to the usage of can and other modal verbs. 3. Explain the rules of other modal verbs.				总结这些句子的特点并讲解can以及其他情态动词表示请求的用法。
Step 3 The other modal verbs (PPT 15-20)		1. Ask Ss to read the sentences in this part and pay attention to the usage of have to / must. 2. Explain rules of modal verbs.				本部分主要讲解must/have to以及其他情态动词表示请求的用法。
Step 4 Practice (PPT 21- 29)		Work on 3a. Call attention to 3a.Read the instructions to the class. Ask Ss to read the phrases in the box and the five conversations quickly. Ask Ss to complete the answers following the instructions. Ask two Ss to act out the conversations they have just completed. Work on 3b. Call attention to 3b. Ss complete the sentences with the words in brackets on their own. Ask some pairs to present the conversations to the class. Work on 3c. Read the instructions for this activity to the class. Ask Ss to read the sample dialogue. Ss complete the chart on the right. Then invite classmates to your party. Make conversations following the example in the box. 4. 教学反思		本单元是学习情态动词表示请求的用法。 can以及其它情态动词的用法比较多，需要学生多练才能达到熟练运用的程度。
