2. Ability aims: Ss can use the sentences( “What pets do you like? I like/love…because…”) to talk about their favourite pets and answer like this.
3. Emotional aims: After learning the characteristics of animals, Ss can have awareness of loving and protecting animals.

Step1 Lead-in

1. Enjoy a video about pets

Ss watch the video with questions.

Q1: Is it an interesting video?

Q2: What can you see in the video?

T: These animals can be pets. So today we are going to learn Unit8 Pets.

2. Show three learning aims

1. 掌握本节课新单词：pet, mouse, goldfish, knee, hold, feed, teach。

2. 能运用 “What pets do you like?” , “I like/love…because…”等句型对自己喜爱的宠物进行提问并作出相应的回答。

3. 通过了解动物的特征及习性，培养爱护和保护动物的意识。
