一、Backgrund f the Students
Dngbu Middle Schl is a rural middle schl. All f the students cme frm rural area. They are pr in English listening, reading and speaking. At the beginning f this term, the students have learned Phnics. And during this term, I have been teaching them phnetics. I ask the students t recite new wrds by prnunciatin, nt letter rders. After ne-term learning, students shw a psitive attitude and self-cnfidence twards learning English.
They have learned the directins in their primary schl. But they can’t use them crrectly.
二、General Objectives
This is the first lessn f Unit 8. This unit is t intrduce varius English-speaking cuntries arund the wrld t the students. In each sectin, students will learn facts abut these cuntries including what the natinal flag lks like, what the capital f the cuntry is and s n. As well, students will be able t use directinal wrds t describe the lcatin f these and ther cuntries. And all f these are based n Lessn 43 Directins---the first lessn f this unit.

五、教学方法 Cmpetitin; Audi-visual Methd; Grup cperatin
注:竞赛法贯穿整个课堂,四个大组(12个人)的学生都会有自己小组的代表单词(本节课的重点单词),每回答对一个问题需要读出代表单词,然后得到加分,每加三分能得到一次转动转盘的机会,转盘四周标有方向,方向后面的小袋子里有分数,可能是加分也可能是减分。每得到二十分可以从世界地图上选择一个自己喜欢的国家或地区。

“听口号做动作”可以让学生动起来,迅速融入课堂。第一个做出动作的学生可以优先选择卡通形象,其背面是自己组的代表单词。nrth,suth, east ,west

本单元重点介绍了英国、美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、中国以及其它一些说英语的国家的情况。展示世界地图让学生们大致了解这些国家的地理位置。
New Lessn
I. Lead in the new lessn, intrduce what directins are. Shw the students a map f the wrld, and ask a questin in Chinese,"面对地图,上(北下南左西右东)" Shw the students the cmpass and pint N、E、W、S。
Answer my questin “上北下南左西右东”
Lk at the cmpass with N、E、W、S n the whitebard and say “上北下南左西右东”again
展示一张世界地图拼图,让学生面对地图,说出东南西北四个方向,理解directins指的是方向。白板上的指南针标有NEWS四个缩写字母,让学生了解每一个字母代表的是哪个方向。

利用自然拼音和音标相结合的方法让学生拼读新单词,可以帮助学生按照发音规则记忆单词。
单个学生纠音。
学生听到自己编号读单词可以活跃课堂气氛,提高课堂效率。
依次连接NEWS可以形成一个倾斜的大写字母Z,帮助学生很好的区分方向。

听音填空是近年来中考的必考题型,将其加入课堂,可以让学生掌握做题技巧,提高听力能力。
英语学习顺序也是先听,然后才是说和读,最后才是写。先听可以让学生对所学内容和正确发音有所了解。
让学生到黑板上写可以检测出问题,比如大小写,比如单词拼写。也是对新授词汇的巩固和练习。

听音跟读是规范英语发音很好的方法。让学生模仿录音的语音语调,可以在一定程度上避免由于地域和老师发音不准确导致的发音问题。

背诵课文是规范英语表达一个很好的方法。学生指着代表方向的字母背诵课文,背完可以转动转盘,能够提高学生的课堂参与度。

读问题比较简单,可以让不太积极的学生来回答,提高其课堂参与度,又可以让学生自然而然的带着问题去读文章,增加对课文的理解。这也在无形当中让学生体会做阅读题之前应该先看问题,带着问题去阅读。

小组讨论可以提高学生的小组合作意识,也可以让学生回答问题时更加有自信,提高学生的课堂参与度。
